Narnia Coming to WDW?

I would expect Harry Potter to be in the Studios. How cool would a Hogwarts Haunted Mansion type ride with ghosts, werewolves, and evil wizards.
I thought that once WDW does HP, there woudl be something in all parks, maybe a something in Fantasyland (possibly Quidditch related), something about the movies at MGM with Harry, Hermoine and Ron (those two might be reversed), the characters at the UK in Epcot and "Hagrid's Corner" in Beastly Kngdom with dragons, etc

Why do you say that?

No real reason - just a thought because HP seems so popular, so if they have it as rumored, seems they would ride it. As I think about it more, don't see anything in MK - that should remain clasdsic Disney. But maybe a Digone Alley at Epcot UK as well

Diagon Alley at the UK in Epcot? Yikes!

I would hope that the decision makers at Disney have the wisdom and class not to try to turn World Showcase at Epcot into some sort of Fantasyland on the Lagoon.

Why on earth would Disney want to spend $100+ million to hype DVD and plush sales for Warner Brothers Studio? If the idea is to get more guests through the turnstiles, the answer is thrill rides ('Test Track', 'Mission: Space', 'Expedition: Everest'). Product Placement Productions - 'Buzz Lightyear', 'Stitch', 'Nemo: The Musical' are to hype Disney's bottom line. Consider all the problems their having with getting Jerry paid off for the shrinking number of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' changes, the idea that Disney and Miss Rowlin would agree on anything is very remote.

I think a Harry Potter ride at MGM is doable though. I agree a big ticket item. I do not see additional attractions or a whole land based on a non-Disney movie. Save that for Narnia. But a Harry Potter ride ( I still say a scary Haunted Mansion type thing) would create buzz.

Maybe not a mountain, but a White Witch castle to contrast Cinderella's

Yes, dragons do fit in the series of books, but only one book. I believe if they are working on "Prince Caspian", one of the main characters becomes a dragon in the book. You should read the series, it is great! Also, "The Magicians Nephew", which is the first book in the series will make" The Lion, The Witch, and the Wordrobe", much more sense. You come to understand how the wordrobe and Narnia came to be. Also, you will see how the professor fits into the story.

Sorry you have the wrong book their Eustace Clarence Scrub Edmund's and Lucy's cousin becomes a dragon in Voyage of the Dawn Treader when he steals a braclet from a dragon's lair.

I actually have never read these books. Does the dragon play an important role in that book at least?

Although Animal Kingdom needs some more stuff, even with Everest, to make it better. I don't think Narnia would fit into AK very well. AK and Narnia just seem totally different to me.

But I think they need to expand MGM and make a Narnia land there. It would make more sence to have whole a land themed around just one set of movies in the Studios than it would in AK.

If the Beastly Kingdom ever does open up in AK though, I think Narnia would fit okay in there.

What AK needs is a land that showcases North America and European animals. After all have you southerners seen a beaver, fox, or a caribou?

However Narnia Land does not fit the AK theme. With the exception of Dinoland USA and Camp Mickey-Minnie, the other lands have continental tie-ins.

Narnia fits into Animal Kingdom, as much as a Yeti does. When taken in context with the original plans of AK, it seems like a worthy replacment for Beastly Kingdom.

Narnia would in essence replace the oft rumored "Beastly Kingdomme", a land of mythical animals. Many of which exist in the Narnia mythos anyway.

A rumor printed in the Unofficial Guide as well as other places talk of a plan to build a North America area around a Grizzly Bear exhibit which could include the animals you mentioned perhaps even in an indoor "Nighttime" exhibit.

I have never been able understand the relationship of the North America rumor, with the "nat-a-zu" sillyness. They don't want people to think that the place is a zoo, but there major improvements and expansions will center around an animal exhibit?

It seems to me that the original idea for AK was to use animals as a sort of "launching pad" for ideas. Hence the dinoaurs and unicorns. More and more animals makes it more and more of a zoo, and that is not what they wanted.

I think it was always supposed to be part zoo/ part theme park. It was essentially Disney's version of Busch Gardens Tampa. Mix rides and animal exhibits. Like the rest of the "continents" I would assume North America would have an E ticket attraction, a large zoological exhibit (based on Grizzlies) and smaller attractions/shows and shops.

The original plans called for a large section of the park to be dedicated to Dragons and Unicorns, not exactly Busch Gardens. Since then, it has been more focused on wildlife.

I'm not saying I don't want it focused on wildlife, but I am not so sure that WDI will not want to revisit the idea of investing more in attractions. I mean, do you think people will consider it a "full-day park" because it has grizzly bears?

No. But if it has a large Grizzly exhibit w/ cougars, wolves, etc, a E-ticket log flume ride, some shops, a kiddie ride or two (like a Bambi Carousel, a Brother Bear kiddie coaster or sumthin') and a CS eatery. Well, that adds an two or so hours.

Hey, you're the Zoo Dude. You were supposed to say "Yes, of course they would"!

Sounds great. Not that I think AK "needs" anything else, but I always welcome something new that doesn't replace something old and beloved
