Is Narcoossee's really all that? My boyfriend and I want to try a 2 credit signature and right now have a reservation for Narcoossee's at 9:10. That's too late for us and wondering if we should just try somewhere else. How's Fultons Crab House?

I was there last week for drinks and fireworks. The staff was awesome, the food going by on trays looked delicious, the fireworks view was terrific, and the atmosphere was a mix of upscale beachy. It is now on my list of places to visit for dinner.

We used to eat at Narcoosee's every trip and it was always awesome - food, service, watching EWP/MK fireworks from the deck. Somehow we've let several trips go by with no meal there but we are returning there for dinner in August. Can't wait!

I love Nsrcoosees. The food and staff is great. Fultons is just ok. Food is expensive and nothing special. Last time my fish was dry. Decided we wouldn't go again. Would much rather do narcoosees. Not sure what time MK fireworks are but the porch is a great place to watch.

No, the food isn't all that. On our last trip we waited 30 minutes between our apps and entree. When I asked the waitress where our food was, she ran back to the kitchen and brought everything out - cold. It was awful. We then waited for them to "re-cook" the food. Over an hour and a half after initially ordering, we finally got our food. We will never be back. Are you on the dining plan? If so, go to Artist Point. It's always consistent and the food and service are excellent. The atmosphere is nicer as well, IMHO. Or try the Boathouse in Disney Springs - the seafood is much better than Narcoosee's. If you aren't on the dining plan, go to bluezoo. Best restaurant in WDW IMHO.

I was just looking into the boathouse and the menu has way more to offer to us so I think we're going to make the switch to boathouse to have an earlier dinner. Blue zoo looks great too might check that out at some point. Thank you!

We ate at Narcoossee's on Feb 11th. We have been there prior and had a wonderful experience but they have changed the menu (no surf and turf) as of Feb 1st. We had slow service same as DisneyWishes14. When we inquired about our meal our service indicated that everyone ordered the Lobster so prep was taking a while. When it finally did come it was difficult to cut and chew, almost rubbery.

Based on the less than stellar service and poor food quality we will not be returning any time soon.

You know the notion that "you don't really know what you've got till it's gone?"

We did Narcoossee's every year except this past year. We wanted to mix things up so they didn't get stale. We skipped Narcoossee's in favor of Artist Point. Now, Artist Point was fantastic and we're gonna find a way to work both into our next trip... but... we really missed Narcoossee's. It felt as if we were missing an important part of our trip. I figured I'd just find another dessert I loved, but nothing beat the almond crusted cheesecake. Oh man, I want one now!

Also, keep in mind that food reviews are highly subjective. Maybe someone went on an off night and hated it, or it just didn't suit their tastes. If you like seafood and steak, you'll probably enjoy it. We only buy into food reviews if someone says a place was dirty or something along those lines. We've loved places that people have hated... and we've hated place that people have recommended. It's all based on your taste and preference.

We really enjoyed it. I wasn't in the mood for seafood when we tried it, but I ordered the chicken entree and was pleasantly surprised. My parents also really did a Wishes timed dinner there and said it was great.

I am also interested to see why people like this place. We have never been, and the food to me doesn't look interesting to me. It looks kind of like plain, banquet type food, meat and potatoes. It's only one of 2 signatures in Disney we have never been. Every time I think of making a reservation I take a look on trip advisor and the food looks boring and I cancel it, but people seem to love it.

I'm wondering if people love it because of the prior "surf and turf" option, lobster and steak that was covered on the dining plan. A lot of times you'll see tons of rave reviews because people could get lobster with 2 dining credits, however they just changed it. And the fact that there are fireworks.

I wonder if people would give it as good reviews if they were not on the dining plan, and paying strictly out of pocket, and no fireworks...??? I'm very curious. Or if the surf and turf was not on the menu. I can get a plain steak and lobster with green beans at home. I want something a little more unique. We have reservations this trip at Jiko, Monsieur Paul, and California Grill, but I'd be up for changing Cali Grill to Narcoossee's if people actually rave about something other than the surf and turf, and cheesy mashed potatoes.

We've eaten at Narcoosee's twice, never on the dining plan (we've never bought the dining plan). On our first visit, the food was mediocre. On our second visit, it was downright cold (you'll see my post above about that experience). $300+ OOP on that one - never again. I really do like to give restaurants second chances, but two strikes and you are out for our family. Especially at those prices.

We've eaten at Jiko, Monsieur Paul and Cali Grill several times. I really like Jiko! Monsieur is also very good (love the lobster appetizer). Monsieur Paul slightly messed up my DH's entree on our last visit and they were mortified by it (we weren't! much more mortified by the cold food at Narcoosee's). They bent over backward to make it right and also gave him a free dessert (which we did not ask for). Narcoosee's did nothing to try to make our terrible experience better. Just for the service alone, I would go back to Monsieur Paul - they took great pride in their service and wanted to make sure we had a good experience.

Cali Grill is ok, IMHO. The food has been consistent, but the last time we were there, we had an early reservation (around 5:30/6:00 pm) and I took my DS into the restroom to wash hands. There were dirty hand towels piled up in the baskets and on the counter, as if the restroom hadn't been cleaned since the night before. It was really off putting.

I've been watching this thread looking for the same answers that people are asking for.... DH and I are going for our 1st adults only trip in June and have always wanted to try a signature restaurant. I have no problem using 2 credits if it's worth it. I know "worth" is subjective - we are looking for a delicious meal and great service. I booked Narcoossee when the surf and turf was still available on the DP. Now that it's not, we considered cancelling, but decided to stick with it for the experience and for a signature meal experience. However, I don't want to spend 2 credits on a meal that's not great - there are other places we could go...

After comparing menus I've decided to go with boathouse for the signature dining option during our trip next week. They have a lot more steak options and tons of seafood options as well. I would've done Narcoossee's but the reservation I had was for 9:10 and that's just too late of a dinner for us so well give boathouse a try

Thanks for your input! We also think Cali grill is ok. It's actually that we've only been there once and are kind of giving it a second chance. We love Citricos, and Flying Fish the best out of all the signatures at this point. We are trying some new places this trip and going back to some that didn't impress us as much. We also agree that Artist Point is very very good.

At some point we may try Narcoossee but it still is the most uninteresting looking menu to me out of all the signatures. People continue to comment that the reason they like it is the surf and turf and book for this reason only. We aren't interested in that and want something more unique. So it will be the last on the list.

The boathouse does look very good and something nice to try!

Just our opinion and our experience but this past December we gave up our Narcoossee's ADR for the Boathouse. It was suppose to be a signature restaurant. We were NEVER so disappointed in a Disney meal. The food was terrible and the service even worse. We will not go back. I really wish we had picked another place to have our big special meal.

I do think narcoossees is more basic than other signature restaurants. the 2 lb lobster is also a huge draw, although I am from NE and for $72 I can probably get a whole lobster bake for two including steamers and mussels... and I live in a very expensive part of new england. But they crack the hell out of that thing and that is worth something... but not for me :) I guess if lobster is more difficult to find where you live then it is an experience worth having.

But I agree that reviews are subjective and every restaurant can have an off night... just sucks if it happens to you... but unless there are tons of reports of bad food I would not let that keep me away. I like to dine near restaurant opening for best service, freshest food, chefs and servers! I have a kiddo with me so the earlier time works out. It works for buffets too ;)

Narcooses is the only restaurant that is a must do for us.

I've read here recently that the viewing deck around the restaurant is no reserved for restaurant guests only during firework viewing which will put it even more on our must do list.

It's our favorite restaurant onsite, the food & service have always been fantastic, we always ask for a window table so that we can look across at the castle, were planing on eating there twice on our next trip.
I can see why it would not be to everyone's taste though as people are different, we ate at Artists Point on our last trip & it was a lovely meal but I'm not sure we'll eat there on our next trip yet people rave about it.
We are slowly working our way through the signature restaurants on each trip but as we find 'favorites' it gets tougher to fit new ones in as we always want to go back to the ones we really like.

I've always been a Narccoossee's fan. I used to LOVE when it was a one credit dinner! The menu has changed, but it is still good though not as great of a value as it use to be. There used to be a kid's steak on the children's menu that was fantastic too. That said, I still like it there, but it's not a "must do" for us any longer. Fulton's is one of our favorites (we will be there next week) and we are big seafood lovers. We are said that it's closing/refurbing.
