Last night we had a delicious ($$$$$) meal at Narcoossee's.
We were greeted by the staff in a warm way. We are celebrating our commitment of 15 years and everyone said Happy Anniversary. It was nice to be validated in such a respectful way. Our menu was printed special with a "Happy Anniversary" on top. Our table was sprinkled with stars and tiny Mickey heads.
We started off with a glass of Beringer's White Zifandel
(not on the wine list but they do have it)
For Appetizers we had the Crispy Crab Cakes with southern slaw and Cajun Remoulade Sauce and Roasted Beet Salad with watercress, frisee, goat cheese, candied pecans with orange-honey vinaigrette.
The crab cakes were fabulous. They were full of crab meat not bread crumbs. They were prepared with a crispy coating that did not take away from the flavor of the crab meat. The roasted beat salad was a wonderful blend of flavors that seemed odd at first but tasted so... for lack of a better word- YUMMY!
For our entree's- My partner had grilled shrimp served with a sweet corn cake, applewood smoked bacon and baby spinach. It was a nice portion and the shrimp was delicious. It was prepared perfectly. I had the surf and turf. It was good. The turf was a little more cooked than I cared for but the lobster was tasty. They also had broccolini and potato gratin with the meal.
Here's the good part- for desert we had Cherries jubilee (special menu item)
and almond crusted cheese cake served with fresh cherries, white chocolate, and dark chocolate slivers. They were also very pretty and tasty. The coffee was pressed and was a strong smooth blend.
Overall the meal was fabulous... it was pricey.( I know that Kevin has mentioned this on the podcast) The views and the ambiance is very nice from this restaurant. I would recommend it for any special occasion or just if you want a good meal.
I would give it 5 out of 5 Mickey Heads.
