My guess is that they open at 5:00, since on most days the open at 5:30. You will be fine with no wait if you're in the first wave of reservations on Christmas.

We ate there last Sunday and I think it was the best meal of the trip. The service was wonderful! Our reservation was for 7:40 and our waiter paced the meal so that we were between courses during the Water Pageant and Wishes. We stepped out on the porch to watch each show, and it was lovely.

When we arrived we were a little early and had time to spend on the porch watching the sun set over the castle. It was the perfect way to start the trip.

Most of us ordered the Surf and Turf, which got rave reviews all around. DH ordered the Ahi Tuna, which he gave a thumbs up, and my BIL ordered the scallops, which he said were good. Everything you've read about the almond crusted cheesecake is true - order it!!!

I hope you have a great time. This was certainly one of our favorite Disney meals. ANd with everything, without our different opinions, the world would be a pretty boring place.

Thanks for the great reviews, everyone! We are eating there for DH's birthday in Sept, and I can't wait! It's a shame that you can't see the fireworks from your table, but it's great that they will hold your table for you while you watch the fireworks. I am very excited to eat there finally!

I am really interested in Narcoosies for our next trip, but have two questions:

1) is the lobster and surf/turf still available on the DDP?
2) Do you open up/prepare the lobster for you, or do I have to figure out how to get that meat out of there? (I am from MD, I do crabs! LOL)

You can indeed order the S&T and the entire meal is ready to eat, no excavating required; its a lobster tail.

Go look at the photos on the Food porn site. It will leave you more than interested in Narcoossee's!

Sorry, my original post was confusing. I meant if you get the whole lobster is it still in shell or do they take it out for you?

The shell is all cracked and the meat is easy to get out. They give you the tail and the claws (claws are the best part) and then the body of the lobster is just the shell (no meat in the body)

It's easy peasy and as I mentioned before on this thread, the whole lobster was vastly better than the tails from the surf and turf.

How is it for those of us allergic to shellfish?? Are there many other options for entree and appetisers?? Fish with scales are fine.

I'll be there for my first visit on Aug 29, and cannot wait!

We too love Narcoossee's...it's a must for our family each trip! Like others have posted, Surf and Turf, Whole Maine Lobster, and Almond Crusted Cheesecake are not to be missed. The atmosphere is wondeful, (off the deck for Wishes and EWP). Their speciality drinks were also good, I can't remember the names of what we had, but all the adults each ordered a different drink off the menu, and none of us were disappointed. If you like seafood, you'll like Narcoossee's. Our kids loved it just as much as we did. We're going in just over a month...can't wait!

So the filet mignon and the surf & turf is still at Narcoossee's. That makes me feel better since people are worried that Disney has eliminated the filet all together. I guess this is not the case, then. Also, do you know whether the surf & turf or lobster is still allowed on the DDP? Thanks.

Maybe someone else knows but I will ask when we are there Thurs night. I just wrote a note on my trip plan so I will remember. I won't post the answer until next Thurs though. I do think the autor of the above trip report was on the dining plan-I think it was the deluxe plan.

Narcoossee's was not on my radar when we went on our trip, but now I'm thinking we're going to have to try it out, especially with all of the buzz from the podcast. I'm curious to know how it will compare to Citricos, which we loved.

Narcoossee's is our absolute favorite restaurant in all of WDW!!! We go every trip, and have not been disappointed once. We usually order either the Surf n Turf, or the Whole Maine Lobster, both are sooooo delicious! We enjoy the atomosphere there, and we have always had terrific service! We like to take the GF resort launch from the MK over to the GF. It is a nice relaxing ride. I highly recommend Narcoossee's!!!!
