Hi Disers!

I'm interested in NARCOOSSEE'S for my Mum and Dads 25th dinner but worried its too formal (shirt and tie), is this the case?
what actually is the food like?

thanks

No need for a shirt and tie at all. Most people are in resort casual, some in park clothes and some will be dressed up a bit. If there are convention types dining, you may see jackets and little back dresses, etc.. But the dress code is pretty much no swimwear, no torn clothing, no Tshirts with slogans or profanity. You can dress up as much as you like though and will probably not feel out of place.

It has a wonderful view of Seven Seas Lagoon. There is exposed hardwood throughout the restaurant so it can get loud.

The specialty is seafood although there are other options as well. Here's a menu although it does change:

The food at Narcoossee's is EXCELLENT, one of my favorite places to eat at WDW. The atmosphere is not that formal, and the dress code does not require shirt and tie, just 'business casual', meaning no swimsuits, tank tops, t-shirts, cutoffs, torn clothes...All I usually wear there is gym shoes, jeans, and a hawaiian shirt or polo shirt ('shirt with a collar' is the way they describe the dress code), although I have gone there in a t-shirt with a Disney sweatshirt over it and nobody complained!

We just ate there Thursday and found it to be a more relaxed atmosphere than we expected. Lots of kids in there doing kid-type stuff. ;) Most men were wearing shirts with collars, but otherwise in shorts and sandals. A couple of ladies were dressed up for the occasion, but I'd say that was the exception to the rule.

We had a mixed experience at Narcoosee's. Appetizers, side dishes and desserts were very good, main course (lobster) was not, and service was very much not. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night, but we were disappointed.

Can't wait to be here in 27 days! Only thing is breaking it to my older son about the "dress code". He wasn't crazy about doing it at Cali Grill. But he will get through it. popcorn::

We celebrated our 6th anniversary there this year and it was beautiful and delicious. We had a 9:30 reservation which put us at a beautiful waterview location for the 10 o'clock Wishes and we got to see the water pagent go by as well! The food is delicious and i can't wait to go back! By the way, my mom surprised us and when we were seated at the table, their was a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us with personalized menus and a nice card wishing us a magical evening from herself and my son. When we got home she said she had arranged the whole thing over the phone and the Narcoosee staff was very excited to give us a wonderful evening...they really went the extra mile and made it a memorable evening for both myself and my husband:thumbsup2
