Narcoossee's - the good, the bag, and the ugly?!?!

DH and I love Narcoosee's, this restaurant is a must do every vacation for us. We like to make a late ADR and kind of melt into the relaxing atmosphere. They also have a great wine list. Went to Red Lobster a couple of weeks ago, and I would definantly say the food is a step up, plus the presentation is alot more elegant. ( And I am partial to Red Lobster since my son is a server there....but it's just not the same IMO.......but I do love those cheddar biscuits there) :thumbsup2

I'll agree completely that the atmosphere has it ALL OVER Red Lobster. Presentation was better too, but the food (for our group) was about the same. It is certainly much prettier inside than any Red Lobster, and the view can't be beat.

I don't know about the wine list. One of the pitfalls of doing Disney pregnant (lucky me I am doing Disney Pregnant three times this pregnancy alone), maybe some good wine would have relaxed me into enjoying the food more.

I too love the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster...

I'm one of the dissenters...we have dined at all the signature restaurants and Narcoossee's is simply not on a par with the others food wise.

Since you asked for the bad and the ugly, I thought I'd post. :) Actually, I wouldn't call our meal bad or ugly. It was just very sub-par for what we were expecting. The restaurant itself wasn't the easiest to find (we asked at the desk and had to stop other guests en route to the restaurant). The food wasn't great. I liked the crab cake appetizer, but my lobster dish wasn't good. The lobster was very chewy, as was my sister's, which was a big disappiontment. My mother didn't care for her meal either, but I can't remember what she had. The meal took about 90 minutes, so it was nicely paced. Of the signatures, this was one of two that we don't care to return to. Good luck. I hope it works out better for you than it did for us.

Being from New England, I would not order lobster in Florida since the good ones (from Maine) all have to be shipped in and the price is extremely high at the Disney restaurants. I can definitely understand why you were disappointed at those prices.

The dishes we have tried have all been very good and the service excellent, but the atmosphere is one of the biggest draws. I find it quieter and more romantic than any of the other signatures.
