Would I be comfortable (ie - not out of place) wearing shorts and a nice polo shirt or something along those lines for an early dinner at Narcoossee's? Ideally, I'd wear Khakis, but with all the packing we're doing, I'd like to save some room (packing for warm and cold in the same trip is hard!).

I wore shorts and a nice shirt to Yachtsman Steakhouse last year and was fine.

I'm assuming I won't be alone...but just wanted to check.

Absolutely! I wore shorts on my last visit earlier this year and didn't look out of place at all. Some diners chose to dress up a bit more, but I think that all depends on the time you are eating and if you are celebrating a special event.

I'd recommend a nice shirt (the polo you described seemed fine), but don't worry about shorts...just enjoy the fantastic food! :)

All the men in our group wore shorts but one so I think you will be fine, you just need a collar shirt.

We just went to Narcoosses on sat. I almost took a picture of the printed dress code to post here. Jeans, shorts will be fine. On a side note, the food and service were excellent! Have fun!

When I called to confirm our ADRs I asked about the dress code and the CM said "it is hardly a dress code, you'll be fine" without even hearing what I planned to pack/wear. I've read numerous posts over the past few months about the dress code being anything goes, as long as it isnt totally ridiculous. I'd imagine any shorts (non-gym/mesh) are prefectly fine, as is any shirt, collared or not, that is in good taste.

Anyone disagree? Is there anyone who has ever been turned away from a restaurant?

Anything other than bathing attire is pretty acceptable. I have seen CM's ask men to remove hats but I've seen some very casual clothing in most of the signatures, including tshirts with huge logos on the front, flip flops, sweat pants, etc.

We were all dressed up only cause we were celebrating our 25th. But there were people in there with nice shorts on. You will be fine. Have fun :thumbsup2

for our wedding dinner our group ranged from tuxedos to shorts and everything in between. Funny enough, it was DH that was the one in shorts!! We stopped in our room on our way to Narcoossee's to drop off our extra cake and I was ROASTING in my dress, so I changed into the sundress I'd bought just for that reason. DH waited about 1 second after seeing me changing and changed out of his tux! :rotfl: The rest of the bridal party was stuck!

But to get back to your point, you'll be FINE in shorts and a polo! Enjoy!
