We've never been to either and would like to go in April. My husband doesn't eat seafood and Narcoossee's has a lot on their menu, but they also have some very good non-seafood choices as well.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

All around Narcoossee's is better. I go to both of these restaurants every time I am in WDW. Narcoossee's does have great non seafood options, but Citricos will have more of them. Although the better food is at Narcoossee's, but Citricos is still very good as well.

Thanks! Would one be better than the other if we wanted to leave the kids behind? Fancier? (Not alone of course. Lol)

I think Citrico's would be better without the kids. Narcoosee's gets more children just because of the Wishes fireworks viewing. That being said, we ate at Narcoosee's last November and I wasn't in a seafood mood that night. I had the chicken entree and it was very tasty.

In terms of kids, I think it depends a lot on when you're going. I've found that there are a fair number of families at Narcoossee's early in the evening, but by mid-to-late evening (after 8:00 pm), the number of families drops off significantly and it's mostly groups of adults or couples. They do have the veranda for watching Wishes, but it seems like more families head to CA Grill, which is brighter and livelier. Narcoossee's is my favorite restuarant in WDW and while I order the lobster, I've also tried the steaks (filet mignon) and it was one of the best steaks I've had. I would highly recommend Narcoossee's if you're a steak fan. I'm less enthusiastic about Citricos, but that's because the time I dined there, things did not go well (waited an hour past the ADR to be seated, food arrived cold, table was near the kitchen so it was pretty noisy, etc.).

Of the two, I would choose Narcoossees. We just had another wonderful meal there, it was superb! I did not join those members of my family who went to Citricos that week, I was in CRT with the little ones, but they said it was "okay". Teh food was good, the service was good. But two days after Narcoossees, they mad a comparison, and Citricos lost.

We prefer Narcoossee's. I am not a seafood lover but we still go once or twice a trip. I like the filet mignon and for dessert nothing beats the almond crusted cheesecake(Yum) It is always on our to do list at Disney. We just love it there. For us it is a relaxing place and I agree that if you book later in the evening there are fewer families with small children.

What a dilemma :). BOTH Restaurants are really stunning :). I have to give Narcoossee's the edge for a great view, but the BEST thing you can do? Check the menu's at each place - go for the food you like :).

Been to both and liked Narccoosses better, which I have returned to 3 times and going back a 4th time in a few weeks.

I've been to both and am not a Citricos fan. It takes a lot for me to axe a restaurant from my go to list due to poor service (every restaurant or server can have an off night, after all) - but Citricos made the no go list based on bad service and nothing else outstanding about it. Narcossees I visit every trip - love that place, it ties w/ Jiko as my favorite signature dinning restaurant. Narcossees always has great service, I love the location and I enjoy the food and relaxed vibe.

Honestly? I think Citricos is a ton better.

Narcoossee's constantly has trouble with their steaks (last time I was there, a waiter reported to the chef that three different customers had complained about their steaks that night, and the chef berated the waiter and said the customers had no idea what they were talking about- owch (though we probably weren't meant to hear that)). As for their shellfish, it's incredibly overpriced: their 40$ lobster is around the quality of a 19$ lobster I can get near home (which is not exactly next to the shore). While watching Wishes from Narcosee's indeed incredible (and if you've never done it, at least head to the docks and see it), it can also mean if you're at a window table people crowding around your table to see it... or people standing outside right in front of your window so you have a lovely view of their behind. I also find their tables are as close together as Le Cellier or San Angel, without the darkness to hide it. Everytime I eat there, I feel crowded.

I think Citrico's menu is more adventurous, and the servers and chef (when we've spoken to 'em) more friendly. I also don't feel as crowded, and find the brighter atmosphere nicer then Narcosee's which feels more like 'California Grill cafeteria style, without the cool vases and awesome view and even more crowded'.

But as you can see, I seem to be a minority here.

...If you are going to Narcoossee, though, I would suggest skipping both the steak and the lobster. I've had a shrimp dish that was quite nice there; my mother once had a vegetarian ravioli that was actually delicious. The steak is almost always overcooked and the chef is not very happy about redoing it if necessary, and despite how cheap lobsters are in Floridia at the moment (at least, lobsters from the Gulf), the quality is just going down while the price is going up on them. Avoid those, though, and you'll likely be very happy.

I like the atmosphere of Narcoosee's - it's so beautiful & it's a great spot for fireworks. That being said, I thought the quality of the food was eh. Coming from New England, I know my lobster and the lobster from the surf & turf that I got there was not good. Like really not good. I think it was a Florida/gulf lobster. I had really never had anyhing like that before. It wasn't just the taste, but it was the texture that esp threw me off. Maybe they import from Maine now and my experience wouldn't be an issue. I also was unimpressed with the qlty of the steaks. Several folks at the table had steaks/filets during the meal and they all said it was "eh." These are the same people continuously ask for ressies at Le Cellier and Cali Grill every trip tho so you can see what they're comparing these steaks to. We haven't been back since this one time. It just doesn't make sense to go out of our way for expensive "eh" food. Would obvioulsy be a diff story if staying on-site. Citricos is OK. I think they are certainly more "creative" with their menu, but again - hard time paying high prices for the food that is served. Ambience isn't anything special either. At least at Narcoosee's you're on the water and have the option to view fireworks if you book a table at the right time.

My DH had the steak and lobster at Narcoossees and said it was just ok. I thought he would've raved about it. Then I had a pasta and shrimp dish and noticed that some of the shrimp were good and some had a funny taste. I didn't eat all of them because of it. By 6am, I was so sick. I think it was food poisoning, but not sure. I was in bed for 3 days, then had to go home. We had one park day. Disney did refund me one park day. We did enjoy sitting at the bar before dinner talking with the bartenders. They were great!
