Honest opinions please. Just my DD2 and I are going to WDW in August (hoping for free dining). I have never been to Narcoossee's. Do people bring their toddlers, or is it too nice of a restaurant? I have no problem bringing her to CRT, Le Cellier, Teppen Edo, but because this is a non-park restaurant, I didn't know. (she is generally very well-behaved). FWIW, I would make the first reservation at 5:30 or so, so it wouldn't be later.

Bring her and enjoy your meal there. The place is fine for kids and kids seem to like the place too. There is a nice deck where you can take her outside to see the boats or if it late enough see the Electric Water Parade. We took our 5yo and he loved it. There were lots of kids there and none were an issue.

Its OK for you and DH to have a really special meal at WDW. :thumbsup2

We brought our 4 kids there 2 years ago. (and the 2 youngest were 3 and 1 at that point)
They were fine and treated us fantastically. We too took the first dinner time and found that they were happy to have us.

When we were there there are tons of kids... TAKE her... we took our dd4 and she is well behaved as well (actually the server even commented on her there) - no worries!!!!

My rule of thumb would be...if they have a children's menu then it is acceptable to bring a child. Some of the resort restaurant don't even have a children's menu and discourage children from attending...they even sometimes have free child care available so that parents can enjoy the meal and the kids can do something fun for them also.

Another concideration I would make is if you are bringing a small child then make an earlier ADR...the child is less likely to be tired and cranky then and there will be early for those without children wanting a "nice quiet dinner". (which you mentioned already you would do!!!)

Make your ADR and enjoy the wonderful Disney experiences with your little princess.:goodvibes

We are going and May and I plan to take our 2.5 DS with us for dinner at 5:55My understanding is that people encounter lots of kids at this restaurant. I think we should all be fine and everyone will enjoy their dinner.

I would definitely take her... we LOVED Narcossees. We had our DDs ages 7 and 4 with us, and there were a lot of kids at the early reservation (we did that as well).

I would recommend against it. Signature dining tends to make for fairly long meals. And they are expensive - two credits if you use the dining plan. You can rush your meal to lower the risk of meltdown, but that really doesn't do justice to the meal. Or you can risk having to walk out with a steak in a styrofoam box when your kid lets loose.

I'll take the risk of needing to walk out of Le Cellier and a one credit meal. I won't take the risk of needing to walk out of a Signature meal. And I think that if I'm going to have a nice meal, I should take the time to have a nice meal - not rush it, not spend the meal trying to keep a toddler entertained with cheerios and crayons.

But I only know my own children - one who wouldn't sit for that long and the second who was prone to outbursts at that age. If I'd had very quiet children willing to sit, I might have a different opinion. They've been doing great at fine dining since they were four - but two - nope.....

Heck yeah! I have a two year old and he's going! We're going to have a nap every afternoon, then dinner around 6, so he should be good and rested!

We've took our two year old (on the dot) twins to both Flying Fish and Jiko without incident. They are not fidgety as long as they have food in front of them and we didn't need to rush. We had appetizers but no desserts (by choice). If your kids can sit for an hour to an hour and a half without a problem then you're all set.

Also, early ADRs make for faster meals so that will help as well.

I have eaten at almost all the signature restaurants (Jiko, CG, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point, Flying Fish, etc.) many, many times. With two exceptions, they all have kid's menus and none discourage children from attending. The exceptions are Victoria & Alberts (where children under 10 are not permitted) and Shula's (at the Dolphin). I am not aware that any of these restaurants provide free child care.

We have a ressie for 5:40 in May and will be brining our 2 yo and 4 yo granddaughters.

I would say bring the 2 year old... unless you're going on April 18th. Then keep them home.
:rolleyes1

Have you been to Narcoossee's? It really is family friendly. As for expense, to each is own. We paid for our 6yo, but only because we needed a credit for an overbooked meal (he only wanted the $6 pasta). Narcoossee's even did a personalized menu for our 6yo who was celebrating a bday. We never requested anything, they had a birthday button and personalized menu all set for us. Needless to say we were all wowed. Narcoossee's really does cater to families w/o taking away from a special dinner event. I cannot speak for other Signatures, but this one is definitely fine for a 2yo, and probably your kids too. There is a deck outside that overlooks the Seven Seas lagoon, so you probably wouldn't have to take your steak out in a styrofoam box, just take the kids for a time out then resume your meal. LeCellier is "dark and small", doesn't sound fun for my energetic nephew, but Narcoossee's really was a great find and I haven't even touched on the food and service we received there.

So even on April 18th, take your kids. :rotfl2: that was for you psac. ;)
