We are traveling with a 6.5 yr old and a 2 yr old to Disney. Is Narcoossee's a child-friendly? Or is it rather formal?

TIA!

Narcoossee's is a bit more adult oriented. But if your children are well behaved and can tolerate a meal that will take 1:30 or so, then you should be fine.

Narcoosee's is a signature restaurant, so it is a bit more upscale than some other WDW restaurants. Children are welcome there, and there is a kids' menu, but meals do take a long time, and there's not anything going on to entertain the kids. If they can sit quietly for a couple of hours, it'll be fine.

There's a small deck area just outside the restaurant, so if the kids get restless, one parent could always take them outside for a walk.

Dh and I ate there as our date-night meal this past Tuesday, and I think you'd be fine with your kids. We saw several children of all ages there. It's not a quiet restaurant, so you wouldn't have to worry about your kids, as long as they're not yelling or walking around. It is an upscale restaurant with an upscale menu, but keep in mind that you are at Disney World and there is a kids' menu. As for the dress code ... I think that's just something written on paper. I wore a skirt and dh wore a dress shirt with the top button undone (he doesn't like ties), and I think we were one of the most dressed up people there.

(If you do decide to go, try the crab cake appetizer--it was absolutely spectacular!)

We ate there for Thanksgiving. There were many well behaved children there for dinner. They were not strick with the dress code that evening as I saw many people in jeans. I made my DS son wear long khacki pants and a polo shirt and he commented on the way others were dressed as I made him "dress up". You will love the food there (as well as the atmosphere). :)

Jeans are allowed in the WDW dress code.

OP - as others have said - if your children are "restaurant friendly" - not wanting to wander around, scream, squeel, cry, etc - you will be fine at Narcoosees. If your two year old doesn't sit still very well yet and gets frustrated you should probably try somewhere else

We celebrated our DD 5th birthday here. We were concerned if the restaurant would be too upscale for her and DS3. We were very happy to see many other children dining that night. We were also taken back on how casual people were dressed. It ended up being our best meal of the vacation. We had ordered a custom cake from the GF bakery. All I can say is "WOW." I will post pics of the cake in the cake thread as soon as I get time to upload them to my computer
