We are on the Dining Plan and have an ADR for Narcoossee’s for our last night. we have never been there. I just wanted to know if it is really worth the two table credits.

Thanks for any responses! :)

Not in my opinion. We've had dinner there twice--in August and December 2009. It was good (not great) in August and disappointing in December. We were very disappointed in the service as well. For instance, the server could not explain what "loaded" mashed potatoes were. He could not tell us even after I asked what would be in them. There were other disappointing elements there as well. I really don't think Narcoossee's is on the same level as the other signatures.

But, hey, as soon as I post this, a bunch of people are going to say it's their favorite restaurant in all of WDW and that you absolutely must go there.

I agree with PP, of the signatures, it is not the best. Although happily we've always had great service, food has been up and down. I love, love, love the atmosphere and view. So that alone could be worth it to you (it brings me back form time to time). But I've had better consistency on food at Flying Fish and California Grill. (Then again, we had poor service, once out of 20 times, at California Grill too, so who knows.)

Yes, it is well worth it!!! We have ate there twice and will be back there in 2 weeks. We have had excellent service and my sister loves the Maine lobster :) She would lick the plate if she could!!!

DH and I ate at Narcoossee's for the first time last Sept. We were on the (free) DDP. I decided I did not want to 'spend' 2 TS credits so we paid OOP. I still think we made the right choice. We are going back in April but will not be on the DDP. That said, I would consider using the credits if I were on the DxDDP.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

My gf and I had a very memorable and enjoyable night there. Was definitely worth the 2 TS credits. The food is not as good as, say, California Grill or Citrico's but it's a far cry better than most TS. About on par with Yachtmsmen Steakhouse I'd say.

And the view of Wishes from one's table by the window? Priceless!

Plus watching the Electric Water Parade go by, too.

We ate there in February and felt as if it was well worth it but we were also on the deluxe plan and had an extra credit to burn. We had our best meal of our trip that evening, wonderful service and an incredible view of Wishes from our table.

We are eating at Narcoosee's for the very first time in July. Our ADR is at 7:05, what time is Wishes? Will we be able to see it?

I hope it is we are eating here in Sept for our honeymoon I am really looking forward to the lobster YUMMY !!!

I'm on the 'worth it' side. Love the food, the location, and this August, we'll be spending two table credits there, for the third year straight. Always the best meal of our trip. Only problem is my family literally rolling me out of the restaurant, through the Grand Floridian, and into the parking lot for our trip back to Wilderness Lodge. :rolleyes1

We enjoyed it and would probably do it again. Everything was delicious except for the Surf part of my Surf & Turf so I wouldn't order that again (DH had the whole yelllowtail snapper and DD3 had the kids filet and children's soup - both of her dishes were split in the kitchen for her and DS1, generous portions). Even the tea was amazing (specialty tea that brews at your table), how crazy is that to say?

We did get a table by the window so we saw Wishes (I asked to be switched, were not seated there originally).

Yes, Narcoossee's is worth the 2 credits. Love the food there, always had great service (we've gotten the same server each time:thumbsup2). I also believe that you get the best bang for your buck at this restaurant. The lobster and surf and turf are almost $60 a piece, so I feel it is well worth the extra credit. Did I mention I love the food!:love:

I would not spend 2 TS credits on Narcoossee's. The food was just OK, and the service was a bit poor. Not worth paying that kind of money (OOP or DDP) for an experience that's 'just ok'.

If you're going to spend 2 TS credits on something, make it special - Citricos, Flying Fish, Jiko, or Cali Grill!

I wouldn't spend 2 credits on it the food was pretty good but the service was awful as soon as we told him we were on the dining plan and that we didn't want any alcoholic drinks we did not ser our server besides taking our order and paying the bill. I just don't think it is worth two credits.

I would vote, yes. I had 2 fabulous meals there in Sept. 2008 and Dec. 2009.

That said, I would consider using the credits if I were on the DxDDP.

This is a good point. I was using DxDDP credits and the signatures are completely worthwhile in this case. However, the math of the signatures rarely seems worthwhile on the DDP now that there's no appetizer included in those 2 credits.

My comparisons...

The food is not as good as, say, California Grill or Citrico's but it's a far cry better than most TS. About on par with Yachtmsmen Steakhouse I'd say.

I didn't particularly like CG, Citricos or YS, but, I had a terrific meal both times I was at Narcoossee's. I had Sea Bass the first time and Whole Yellow Tail Snapper (steamed instead of grilled because of allergy) the second time.

If you're going to spend 2 TS credits on something, make it special - Citricos, Flying Fish, Jiko, or Cali Grill!

I did have a terrific meal at FF and Jiko always has good food even though I'm not a fan of their basic flavours I tend to end up enjoying my meal.

Honeymoon 2005 very dissappointed in the food. I've tried to convince my wife we should give it a try again she'd rather go to 1900 Parkfare...

Flying Fish is our favorite - Potato Wrapped Red Snapper - To die for...

This depends on how long you spend at the restaurant and what time MK closes that night.

I'd say you are probably going to be a little too early to catch it unless you spend 2.5 hours or more on your meal. It won't even get dark in WDW in mid-July until 8:30-9pm. Wishes will be more like 10pm, after it is completely dark.

On the original topic, I would do Narcoossee's for two credits on DxDDP, but for me it does not seem 'worth' the 2 credits on the regular plan. I agree with earlier posters about inconsistent food quality and inconsistent service.

Yes! DH and I love  Narcoossee's. The lobster is amazing, and the desserts are great too. Also, if you go during Wishes you can watch it from the deck at Narcoossees.

Narcoossee's is the only restaurant my DH insists we go to every time we go to Disney World. We love it there and have never had a bad meal, we've eaten then in 2006, 2007 and 2009. We are definitely on the worth it side.

I find that everyone's opinion on restaurants vary though, like we strongly disliked Flying Fish and we love seafood, but a ton of people rave about it. Or we have had one amazing meal at Jiko and one so so meal at Jiko. I think it really depends on your server and the night you visit at any of the restaurants. We have never had a bad meal at Narcoossee's and will be back in 2011 when we visit Disney again.
