I'm thinking of trying Narcoosees out for our Oct 09 trip to celebrate my birthday....but ....

I'm a bit of a lobster snob.. :lmao: My dad had a lobster trap license when we were growing up so it unfortunately raised the bar for me :rotfl: ...How is the lobster really? Anyone from ME or MA want to weigh in? I've seen some differing opinions thats its a glorified Red Lobster and I certainly don't want to spend the money if thats really the case.

Calling it a glorified Red Lobster may be a bit harsh but no less accurate. If you "know" lobster then Narcoossee's won't impress you. It's not a 3-lb. guts and glory crustacean they give you, rather 1.5 lbs., pre-cut and about as good as it gets at Disney. If you're on the DxDP then it's a definite bargain. If you're paying OOP, it's not worth $58. Bottom line, if you're already comparing it to what you grew up with or to MA & ME lobsters, then you won't be happy with whatever they bring you. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. Of course there are other things on the menu that might work..I just thought for $58 they must be doing something really special to it...but maybe they are just buying it a seat on the plane :lmao:

I definitely agree with this! Narcoossee's has it's fans, but I think it must be largely due to atmosphere. It's pretty cool to have lobster with a castle view.

:rotfl: Love it! I can just picture a row of lobsters flying Southwest down from the coast.

Condorman summed it up perfectly. I can get a much better lobster here in NYC for around $35-$40. $58 is outrageous!

I had the lobster at Narcoossee's for our last trip and as much as I love the restaurant, I hated the lobster. HATED it. Now, I have also never tried it before and don't ever see myself eating it again, it's was so chewy like I was eating rubber and I had to slather it in butter.

I am also not one to send back a dish. It's so stupid imo, the restaurant didn't force me to get the lobster and it's not their fault I didn't like lobster. If there was a bug in it or something that would be a different story :)

It's a good thing I love the filet so much and will gladly order it again in September along with the delicious almond crusted cheesecake.

Plus, I wasn't mad either about not liking it becasue I was on the free DDP and it cost me nothing but a tip to the waiter... who by the way was AWESOME!!!

Drooling again, I want some of that cheesecake :)

As someone who grew up on Cape Cod, I feel and relate to your 'snobbery'. :lmao:

The $59 they charge for the "lobster" is ridiculous, save your money.

But, don't let that keep you away from Narcoossee's. It's one of the better restaurants on the property. The filet mignon is very good, as is the grilled wild salmon.

But, if it's really good seafood you're craving, head over to The Dolphin and check out bluezoo. It's an investment to be sure, but it's a great vacation meal. Great staff, inventive menu. We love it.

Oh no no no no...Lobster should never be "chewy" Please don't say you'll never try it again... Wait until you visit New England (in August) and give it one last go before you write it off.

Thanks everyone else for the input. Although I will probably still try out Narcoosee for the atmosphere and locale.... I will not be ordering the Lobster
