So we're about done our mourning but the pain is still there. Its been about 10 days since our, dare I say, MAGICAL (too cliche) vacation ended. It was great!!! The kids (DS 4 (sneaking up on 5), DD 2) and the wife and I had an incredible time. My wife who likes to go to different places for vacation cannot wait for our next trip. It looks like 2012 is when we'll be back and much earlier if we hit the lottery before then...yeah I wish.

So anyway...I'm not going to give a blow by blow of the vacation but I'm just going to brain dump. I hope ya'll get some enjoyment out of my post! I know I'll enjoy sharing it!

- Spent 6 nights/7 days at POFQ. Great resort. DS LOVED the slide and DD LOVED the alligators (particularly kissing them). Would really like to try a Deluxe at MK or Epcot next time for travel convenience.
- Speaking of travel...everything from POFQ was great except for AK. The trip to Blizzard Beach on the way back was awful especially at 6 pm when BB closed at 5. Most of the time no stops at POR which was awesome.
- The kids napped EVERYDAY! There's good and bad to that. The good...not one meltdown! The bad...missed a lot of time at the parks. Most day 3-4 hours RT with nap. We didn't really get a chance to do the World Showcase at Epcot and some shows at HS since we only had one day at each of those. I think, though, the good far outweighed the bad.
- We did RD essentially everyday and it's the best way to tour (yeah...I know all of you know that already). You get SO much done in the first couple hours and at times I felt like a rich man with all of FP I collected (especially for TSM).
- First day and half was spent at AK and that worked out perfect. Arrival day was tough on the kids cuz they woke up at 4:45 so only going to AK from 2:30-5 was great. We soaked in the atmosphere, bought some fan misters, saw the parade and FOTLK. The following day we were back again for EMH...walked on to Safari and walked around the area until the Rapids opened. DS LOVED this ride and he rode it 4 times twice in the AM and twice in the PM (more on this later). Nemo show is where we found out that DD would not do good with loud noises...wife had to leave the show with DD.
- So...back to riding the rapids 4 times...Rider Switch!!! That was awesome. DS scored big with having his peanut of a sister with us. For every one wait (and they were always quick waits) DS went one twice...lucky kid.
- MK was up next where we spent 2 1/2 days there going back every other day. We still didn't have enough time to do everything. We didn't do the Country Bears, Tiki Room, Stitch, the Princess characters, HM (I really wanted to do that one) or Space Mt (which I would have had to do alone anyway since DS misses the ride by 1 1/2 inches. DD had a handful of faves here including Carousel, IASW, Buzz and Pooh's ride. DS loved Splash and rode it 6 times during our vaca (Rider Switch...woohoo). One attraction that REALLY surprised me was Laugh Floor. That was actually funny. The jokes went over the kids heads but the wife and I enjoyed it.
- This was our 1st year meeting face characters and let me tell you how cool that was. DD really wanted to meet Tink so we did and she was awesome with the kids. She sat on the floor, crossed her legs and had DD on her lap. We also met Snow White and now that's DD new fave princess. Those face characters are so great.
- Hollywood Studios...son really wanted to do ToT. He watched and still decided he wanted to do it so he and I went it. That's when he got freaked out. The lighting, sound effects waiting for an elevator freaked him out and he wanted to go. I told him we could leave but I told him its all make believe and he wouldn't get another chance to go back on until he was 6 or 7. "Ok daddy...we'll stay". What a trooper! Held my hand during the ride and grabbed the girls elbow to his left...too funny. When he was done he was a fan though. Kid's loved TSM...did it twice both with FP. Even at RD the line was long so we decided to do FP...glad we did. We're a big fan of the army men..."Nice color, soldier" to my son's green shirt. The car stunt show was GREAT. The whole fam loved it except for DD...loud noises! Enjoyed the parade too...DS got up and danced...cute.
- Epcot...Soarin' is awesome!!! Our fave in Epcot. Got a FP for Mars but never got to use it...time constraint. DS enjoyed TT. We also though Nemo and Crush were awesome...first time doing that. This is where we also REALLY got the kids into pins. That is super fun but $$$! Loved Illuminations. Wife and I saw it in 2000 for our honeymoon but had horrible "seats". This time we were near Norway and the fireworks, lights, fire were awesome.
- We did the QS meal plan and what a great deal. Maybe next trip we'll do the table service. We saved tons of money and had SO much food.
- And more about food...did the CP at MK with reservations before opening. That was awesome getting in early. Got some awesome pics with no one around! Worth the price of the meal...and the food was good too.
- #@%@!* - Some people can be horrible! During RD at Toontown for Tink. We were at the rope and some adult male almost plowed us over so he could run ahead and save a spot for his fam...LAME. Also...we were the last to see Hook and Smee at HS. A cast member was standing behind us and turning people away. Right when we got to the front one guy started yelling at the cast member about how he was in line (BS). He took her pic and a pic of her name tag and was just rude. I told him he was not and line and then turned back to the cast member and asked if she need me to vouch for her and she said it was not necessary. And on top of that he was making a scene and standing in front of pics of a Make A Wish kid. All the characters (Hook, Smee, C & D, Belle) came out to take a pic with this kid and he's making a scene...nice example for your kid.

Ok...my fingers are starting to cramp up. I hope this is not to confusing. Maybe I'll try to post a couple pics too. Can't wait to go back to WDW in '12!
