Napoli/Naples pizza question

Going for an overnight trip next week...trying to plan out some meals for us. I'd like to know what the pizza is like...I'm assuming Napoli and Naples are the same, just carry-out vs. dining in?

I really like a New York style pizza...thin crust style. Is that what their pizza is like? I can handle paying $30 for a pizza if it's big enough to feed the family...and if it's good!

Okay, about Naples. I DO like it. I know you will get some posts here from people who emphatically do not like it. I have had some other New York-style pizza at other places in L.A. that specialize in that specific style (LaMonica's, Mulberry Street, Johnnie's, etc.), and Naples is not quite as New York-ish as those other places I have had that pizza at. But I like it. First of all, I got a small pizza - Naples' smallest size was big enough for two people, at least - so if you get a large, it will undoubtedly feed a lot of people. I have had different pizza each time I was there. The first time it was underbaked and the cheese was not melted enough, but the flavor and sauce were good. The second time, I ordered the same pepperoni pizza and it was a little overbaked, where the cheese was starting to brown ever so slilghtly, but still the flavor and sauce and pepperoni were great! The crust on the second visit tasted very much like it had been soaked in olive oil or something. Overall, I liked it. I liked the taste, the consistency, the size, etc. It is a not a DON'T MISS restaurant for me. I can skip it every so often, but I would like to eat there again. My friend ordered some sort of chicken dish on the first visit and the meatball sandwich on the second, and she enjoyed both.

If you are just looking for Italian overall and not pizza, then Wine Country Trattoria is good. And Storytellers has great spaghetti!

As far as the trip, I ended up not getting up there...I got so busy with Christmas planning, and I needed to get the stuff in the mail quickly since it was going across country. But, I did get an idea from some other discussions on here...along with my niece being obsessed with Mickey Mouse, she also loves stuffed animals....so I ended up getting her a gift card for Build-a-Bear, and her mom can take her there to make a stuffed animal. She will LOVE the experience.

We're going to go up for an overnight stay next week when our passes are good and before the kids have to go back to school...just starting the semi-planning now.

I've never eaten at Naples but I have at Napolini. We had a cheese pizza, just cheese. It was so good!!! We had a medium and we ate it all, just me and the 2 kids and there wasn't a bite left. LOL We had the pizza from Napolini and lemonade from Wetzel's.....yum!!!! Ours was to go because we were at the GCH that trip, grabbed the pizza and walked back to our room.

We love Naples! Yum yum yummy! We've eaten there twice and had both excellent service and food both times. The pizza is very yummy and the crust is thin and chewy.

I definitely love pizza! And I like being able to read people's reviews of the pizza at Disneyland or at DTD. It helps me attempt to decide, whether or not to try the pizza at one of their (Disney etc.) locations.

We had pizza at the sit-down place...Naples?...and I have to tell you it was awful. My kids wouldn't eat it and my dh didn't like it and I plain couldn't stand it. The pepperoni was so hot that my lips burned for an hour afterward. The crust was blah and the thing just didn't have anything going for it, IMO. That was in October. I have had the pizza slices from the take-out and it was ok, but this one we had in Oct was one of the worst pizzas I've ever tried, and it wasn't cheap. They also didn't give us an ap discount, but I hadn't checked ahead to see if they were on the list or not.

In my opinion, Naples has the BEST cheese pizza EVER!!!
My fave is their pizza quattro formaggi, 4 cheese! And when I get to the goat cheese, mmm...there's no words to describe how good it is.
The crust is thin, a little hard, but I usually don't eat it anyways. But if you like eating crust, you can always dip it in the oil and vinegar.

We ate there for the first this month. It definitely is very pricey. We wanted food that wouldn't leave left overs since we stopped by before entering the park. My friend and I struggled with the smallest sized Pizza, so you can imagine what a large or family size is like. Make sure you have at least 3 hungry adults with you for the larger sizes. I guess the pizza tasted okay, I bit thin and soggy, not delicious enough for the price.

We also ended up sharing a salad because the size of it was enough to feed everyone waiting in line for the Nemo Submarine ride. Cesar salad was a little bland, Rainforest Cafe salad was better. Use your annual pass for the discount if you have one.

Yes, they definitely took my AP and applied a discount too. I don't know if they only take Premium AP's for a discount or if they only apply the discount up until certain times of day (like Rainforest Cafe and ESPN Zone do), but I got a discount in October!

Hmmm, it's been a year but ours was carry out. I think it was 15-20 min. We ordered, walked to Wetzels for lemonade and then went back and waited another 5 minutes or so.

We like the pizza at Naples (sit down) but hated the pizza at Napolinis. The one we had was thick, at least 1-1/2", more like bread than pizza, and the sauce was flavorless. Granted the pieces were pretty big but we didn't finish them because they were so bad. This was the pizza they have sitting and waiting for you to order and then they serve it to you. They claim it's kept hot but I had to have them put it in the oven for a few minutes. Sounds like the pizza you can order is the same as the ones Naples serves. I don't rec. you get the pizza that is waiting when you order (kinda of like Sbarro, but worse tasting!)

We didn't do the pizza that was waiting, we ordered ours fresh at the bar. The kids were tired and wanted to sit, I asked the bartender and he said that since we were waiting on a pizza they could sit. He even brought us water and bread while we waited.

I don't think it's the same.....I remember ours coming from the kitchen area in the back, not from the oven in the front. Or am I totally confusing the set up with another pizza joint? LOL

It sounds about right. I just didn't know you could order the regular Naples pizza at Napolini's. I won't make that mistake again.
