Did anyone else notice this? The paper napkins at all the food places are now plain brown napkins. There are no more imprints of characters or Disney Parks on them. Just wondering if I'm the only crazy one that noticed! :confused3

NOOOOO!!!!!

I always carry around a few Disney napkins in my backpack. I know it's time for a new trip when I start getting low on my napkin stash. ;) How will I bring a smile to my friends/family if I can't whip out a Disney napkin on demand?

Unless I'm mistaken, they were plain brown back in December, sob!

Please don't be alarmed--I too share your napkin rage. They are very non-descript and it's a shame. And I get that they are just napkins, but when you are used to something "special," you want it to stay that way. When I went the first time, the forks and spoons were purple and red, and the paper plates they gave you had Mickey on them as did the cups and the napkins. I was so impressed by this, that my Grandma kept a few, and sometimes would surprise me by packing them into my lunch. I actually still have some of them left. She mentioned the last time she was there (she's 86 btw) that it was a shame that they had let that go because she remembered a little 4 and 8 year old princess: who loved them, even a year or two later on a bad day at school.

LOL at "We liked them so we took a year's supply of them home with us." Put two and two together folks.

We went in December and I don't remember them being plain. What was I thinking? We love those napkins

:thumbsup2

:lmao: Really??? This is our second thread devoted to the napkin change. I never knew so many people were attached to the napkins.

They still have the printed napkins at fantasia gardens mini golf. We were there last week. Did not see them anywhere else.

You don't know us very well. I'm still upset about the Mickey Butter!!!!! They even used to have a Mickey statue as butter back when King Stephans Hall was still in business.

Actually, I do know this board pretty well and shouldn't have been surprised at all. :rotfl:

Odd ... they were definitely Disneyfied when we were there in May.

I heard this on a podcast recently, too, and was hoping it was a fluke. I usually take a few extras home to keep in the diaper bag. Mopping up DS' spills or wiping his nose is much more enjoyable with a character napkin!

We were there in June and I must be a bad DIS'er cause I didn't pay much attention to notice! :rolleyes1

Plain Jane is less expensive. Look for other things to slowly disappear as the bean counters get the profits up.

I would rather Disney save 2 cents a napkin and get plain ones over printed ones, and put the money toward more important upgrades/improvements/new attractions.

A napkin is a napkin, one with printed images on it will do the same thing as a plain one ;)

Was there last week and yes the napkins were plain...DH always told the kids that the napkins were their souveniors!
