Napa Rose Help!

So after reading a few reviews and threads I got the last minute idea that this might be a great treat for my hubby's bday on Aug 5th. Am I too late to make a ressie? How expensive would it be for the two of us? I would need to plan out monies in advance. Are there many good options for someone less adventurous such as myself (no seafood!)? If we are spending the day prior in the parks is it a good idea to plan on going back to the hotel to change into something nicer? Please any suggestions/advice would be great I need to make this reservation soon if im gonna do it.

I'm not too familiar with napa rose but I can't imagine that it would be too late for PS on Aug 5th. If it is... oh well, gotta settle for Blue Bayou. But I would call first thing tommorow.

For two people, looking at the menu, I would say it is going to be around 250.00 with drinks, if you do the menu the way it is supposed to be done. With a first course, second course, and main course with drinks

I don't have any personal experience but I think the reviews I've read have all been positive. Not sure if that really helps but it will at least bump the post up for you.

I called a few days ago and found getting a resi for 730 PM on Aug 8 (Sat night) was no problem. Actually they had quite a few times open, I'd guess a week night would just as easy.

As a fellow non-seafood eater, I can tell you that you will have a wonderful experience. I have eaten there four times now, and each time I have had a great meal. There are many non-seafood options for you. There is always at least one steak dish, so if you don't want duck or lamb either, the steak is still good.

Well I was coming up with the 250.00 if you each had a three course meal with drinks plus tax, not including dessert and coffee.

I did it! I called and got a resservation for birthday day at 6:30pm no problem. I am really looking forward to his birthday now, maybe even more so than him. We will be doing the walk in Walt's footsteps tour in the morning and having dinner at Napa Rose what could be better? Thanks for the posts and links... the menu was really helpful in making my decision.

We love the Napa Rose. I am not in to character meals. I think you can go to napa rose and split the plates and have a really high quality dining experience for nearly the same money.

We don't do the wine flights..it's simply too much wine for us. So we may pick a glass of wine and share it. For dessert they have a super great raspberry cordial with champagne.

Also.. they have no problem with you sharing dishes. And remember you don't have to have every course.

You see people in all forms of dress.. some dressed up..some in jeans.

You know about the chef's counter don't you? They have i think 10 seats.. it may be a couple more or less.. and you get to watch them preparing all the meals. It is fun. It doesn't cost any extra. You can call back and request it.

Just know before you can go.. what you want to spend. Then take your time ordering.. chose what you want to share.. and maybe something you don't.

Don't be embarassed to share a dish.

We have done Napa Rose several times and love it!

If you want a smaller experience, the last time we went DH and I shared an appetizer and dessert, and a glass of dessert wine, it was delicious and so much fun to finish our late first day to the park. We did sit in the bar area but it was so comfy and nice we still enjoyed the experience.

Our other experiences have been with special events (so worth it even for the cost!!!) and just regular meals. I have even taken my Mom and sister, which my Mom is not as experimental eater and she totally enjoyed the restaurant. I also think that splitting a coursed menu or doing ala carte greatly reduces the price. I can tell you our bill was no where near $250 for three people, my Mom would have fainted it, it was anywhere near that!!

I also think that a wine pairing is best when shared, most people will find it too much for one person but if you share it with your DH it is perfect.

I hope one day to get a seat at the Chef's Counter because the food is so great already and I heard this experience is even better!

Thanks everybody, im so excited only 8 days to go until our trip! I looked over the menu closely and figured out a sample budget and I don't think the price will be quite as scary as I had original thought. I don't drink and if my hubby does its only a beer or a glass of wine so that won't add much to the tally.
I think im just going to wear a nice top to the parks that day and jeans, maybe bring a cute pair of shoes to slip into right before we go that way we don't have to go back to the hotel to change.
Who knows maybe going and enjoying something inside the GC hotel will inspire my husband to book a room there some day!
