Just to preface all this...I know I can and I plan on calling when I get the chance but I'm just curious of what I could possibly expect.

My wife and I are having our first real Disneyland trip in a couple of weeks. We decided to not go crazy with planning out where to eat each day like we do when we visit Disney World. We liked not having to plan as much. As we get closer to our trip I was looking into some ideas for special things we could do. I wasn't specifically looking for a special place to eat but I came across Napa Rose's Chef's Counter and it seems like such a great dining experience. With it being such a limited experience does something like this get booked full very quickly?

Yes it gets booked, so you should call. Even if it is booked it’s still worth going to the restaurant. You can order the Vintner’s Table selection from the menu which will give you a taste of a variety of the seasonal items.

I would definitely call and ask if there is a time available! There are two seatings, 5:30 and 8:30 so you might be lucky if you are flexible on which day and time you can go.

You do have to call Napa Rose to book, you can't reserve the chef's counter online.

We had to cancel NR once the day of at chefs counter. I felt awful but they said they would fill it no problem. If you can't get the counter ask the day before and the day of while one your trip. Someone might have to cancel.

I called about 2 weeks ago and was able to book one for last week of September.
They were saying the seatings were 5 and 8---does the actual dining start at 5:30/8:30? And first half an hour is chatting to learn what everyone's preference is? :)

Interesting question...I thought it was 5:30 and 8:30 but I might be wrong! When I check online the times people mention are either 5:30 and 8:30 or 5:30 and 8:00.

Guess I should call and find out before we show up 30 minutes late! :scared:

Is there a specific number that's best to call? I've seen different suggestions in my research.

Last time we went in 2016, I had 5:30 reservations, but we found out the day before that we’d gotten into Club 33 through DH’s company (his boss made some calls :) ). We called and were able to cancel and rebook 2 days out, at the later seating. We’re going again in September, and this time our early seating is at 5 pm. I’ve done it 3 times now and really enjoyed it!

If you call the Grand directly you can ask to be transferred to Napa Rose.

Edited to add numbers:
(714) 635-2300
(714) 300-7300

Hit or miss...we have tried weeks in advance with no luck and other times on a whim while on a trip and gotten in.

You must call Napa Rose directly: ‭(714) 300-7170‬
The Chef's Counter cannot be booked online or the regular dining phone number.
