Hey! We are having trouble deciding between the Napa Room and the Whitehall Room!! Any opinions or advice? Am hoping to have the Calypso Trio, there will be 22 of us (possibly a little less) and there will be 4 young children (one aged 7, one aged 6 and two aged 4). Our ceremony will (hopefully) be midday. Any thoughts or advice are most appreciated! Thanks xx :)

It's just the minimums that scare me a bit with Napa Room. If we go over 4.00pm it goes up from $1000 to $4000 :scared1: Just wondered if it might be a bit more cost effective at Whitehall...aarrrgh I'm so confused! But then the views of MK sound so wonderful.

Here's my .02, as a DVC owner at BLT, a mom, and someone who's also trying to make the same decision on reception spaces for our VR! ;)

The view from Napa is nice, but I think it's better at night. During the day, you'll see lots of concrete and parking lot between you and the castle. If that doesn't bother you, then no problem. :) For myself, I prefer looking at the MK at night ... it's easier to overlook everything in between when it's dark.

With Whitehall, you've got a lot of space outside of the room if you include the covered porch area and the patio. With little ones that will get restless just sitting for a long time, you might find that patio area to be a huge blessing, giving them somewhere to run around a bit and let off steam.

Also, are you having a Wishes or an Escape? With Wishes, you don't have to meet a specific venue minimum at Whitehall -- just the minimum DFTW sets out for the time of day. With Napa, you have to hit DFTW's minimum and the venue minimum (which doesn't include the cake because you're not at the GF). That might make a difference, too.

Oh -- and I don't think you can alter the menus offered at Napa/California Grill at all. At Whitehall, you can serve whatever you'd like.

HTH a bit! Let us know what you decide. :)

Hey, thanks! We're having a Wishes wedding. I was wondering about the patio being a good idea because of the kids. As much as I would love a view of MK whilst having the reception, Whitehall sounds like it might be more cost effective! :)

We are doing the Napa room and I really wanted the Calypso Trio but Bill (wedding planner) felt the space wasn't big enough and the sound would have been over powering or something-I can't remember his exact wording. My fiance really, really wanted the Napa room so I gave up the Trio and we are having a Key West style guitarist instead.

We really wanted to have a customised menu, so that threw the Napa Room out for us.
