For all the experienced WDW break takers...For MK, What time do you leave the park and return to the park. We are staying at Royal Plaza Plaza and curious how much time should we allow to leave, arrive at hotel, take a nap or swim and then return to park.
We have Hoop Dee Doo on the schedule at 5pm but we could change it to 7pm if that would be more convient with a nap schedule.

What are your opinions....Thanks,

If you have a PS at 5pm, then realistically there's no use in returning to the park. The amount of time it will take to get there would just be too much. If you want to change it to 7pm and NOT clean up before dinner, then you could leave by noon-1pm (provided you get there at opening) and return around 4pm ish. However, if I had the evening plans like you do, I'd just go at opening and leave after the parade. Then either do the PS at 5pm and call it an early night. Or switch it to 7pm and rest after the parade and not return to the park that day.

Personally, we don't see the point in returning to the parks, unless they're open late (11pm-midnight). However, w/ a PS you have to leave for that changes things. The other option is to do the 5pm PS and come back to MK after if it's open late.

We just got back from 10 days with 4 young kids and what we did on most days is hit the EE park in the morning at 8am we would stay until right around 12 noon by this time the park was getting crowded, the sun was getting hot, the adults were getting hungry and the kids needed a swim or nap.

We would head back to the resort and eat in the room or hit the food court there, some of us changed and headed for the pool and some stayed at the room and napped. (Just the swim made a big difference in adults and kids...just refreshed and renewed afterwards).

We would head back to the parks around 5pm unless it was a late night or we had dinner reservations then we'd go a little later yet.

As far as the Hoop De Doo we pretty much did the same thing but headed back to the the park to catch the boat over an hour earlier than we were normally returning to the park on other days. BTW the Hoop De Doo was one of the biggest highlights of our trip...adults and kids loved it!

Have a great time...I'm so bummed being back home and it's been a month!! Whaaa

We left the parks around noon, and returned around 4 most days. If I were planning to go to the Hoop De Doo I would not plan to go back to the park in the evening, though. I would consider the Hoop De Doo to be my evening plans, and probably move it to 7 if you wanted to stay in the MK a bit longer than lunchtime.

I would change your PS to 7 and take that break!!!! We have been 11 times with our son (now 6) over the past three years, so trust me on this one.

On our first trip we stayed at the hotel right next door to Royal Plaza (I think it's a Hoilday Inn now). We had our car and it was very convenient to take a break. We would let our son swim for about 20-30 min and then take him upstairs. Believe me, they are VERY wiped out and you'll have no problem with naps.
