Nancy Grace Saga

I thought her family were the ones who said Nancy Grace pushed her over the edge.

I think the mother was involved, but I think Nancy Grace crossed the line as an interviewer. She's not a prosecuter anymore. I've never liked her anyway, she asks a question, ignores the answer and goes off on a tirade.
I agree with this. I thought the mother was involved right from the beginning. Now it will be a lot more difficult to figure out what happened. :guilty: Poor little Trenton. :guilty:

I don't know the details of this case, but Nancy Grace is a hack. There is a very good reason she is not a prosecutor anymore and she NEVER lets the facts get in the way of her tirades. This woman has done more to hurt our judicial system than any other person I can think of.

AMazing. She's never lost a case and she's "hurt" our judicial system? They called her "Amazing Grace" because of her tough-as-nails prosecutorial style and sympathetic nature toward victims and families. I don't necessarily enjoy her interview style but to say the above is :confused3 .

That's the real tragedy. Whatever the mother knew or didn't know, or would possibly reveal in the future is gone.

And I personally don't like Nancy Grace's style either. You can often get more information from a person with a soft touch, instead of bludgeoning them over the head. From what I saw of the interview, I don't think Grace was interested in finding out the facts. I think she just wanted to "prove" that she was right.

I like Nancy Grace, I watch her show every night. I agree she is over the top sometimes, but she wasn't any different interviewing Trenton's mother as she was interviewing Trenton's father, or any other parent of a missing child.

Honestly, I think her #1 concern is finding the missing child, and she got angry because of what everyone else in this thread said, that mother was avoiding questions and acting very strange (compared to all the other parents of missing children I've seen on the show. I realize every person acts different in different situations, but her actions and words weren't normal.)

I hope they do find baby Trenton, but I don't think it looks good for him, unfortunately. :guilty:

Haven't seen Nancy Grace in over a year - maybe longer. And then only a couple of times. But could she make it more obvious that she only wants to be photographed/filmed from one side? Did she "strike a pose" that way in the courtroom?

I really like Nancy Grace, and I appreciate her work for victims and their families. I did not see the interview. Is it on video somewhere online? Is there a transcript? I haven't seen the news at all today so I wasn't aware of this.

Here's a news story about it with clips from the interview.-http://www.wftv.com/video/9849769/index.html

Maybe youtube.com has the whole thing?

How was Nancy to know that the woman would walk away from the interview and kill herself? How did she make a mistake?

That is it EXACTLY if Nancy did not know she should have left it alone...

Number 1 rule in police interrogations is do not SCARE the supect or even let on that he/she is a suspect.

In other words you can get much more info out of a suspect if they do not realize that you are investagating them, just let them keep talking and talking. Once you scare a suspect they shut up and ask for lawyers, or in this case something else...

But you summed it up, NANCY DID NOT KNOW. So she really should have let the police handle it. Now they cant.

I don't think anyone has to be interviewed by Nancy Grace or any other reporter for that matter.

I am sorry, I just found this Thread. Can someone give me a link to the actual CASE? I watched the YOUTUBE link. What happened to the child? Has he been found? Why did the Mom kill herself? Did she have something to do with the missing child?

TIA!

I agree! I cannot stand Nancy Grace but I don't think she is to blame. Who left this distraught mom alone in a house with a loaded gun?

This is an ongoing case. You can check any Orlando-area news website. Here's one to start with... http://www.local6.com/news/9855012/detail.html

Trenton is still missing, but I fear for the worst. :( The family claims the mom killed herself because of media scrutiny. It is not known if she had anything to do with her son missing (though I suspect she did). She was in the process of divorcing Trenton's father.

They didn't. She went to her grandparent's home and got her grandfather's gun. She lived elsewhere.

Thank you, Jasmine for the link....wow....so sad :sad2:

I am leaning towards something dreaded has happened to Trenton if his Mom has killed herself. Doesn't that speak volumes? Maybe she was responsible for the child missing and ultimately possibly dead??? :sad2:

Nancy Grace has been known to give false pretences for interviews.

She once had Elizabeth Smart(held captive for over 4 years), while Elizabeth was trying to help push a bill through congress. Elizabeth made it clear b4 the interview that she did not want to discuss her own experiences and wanted the focus to be on the bill.
Anyways, Nancy Grace ignores Elizabeths wishes and keeps grilling the girl about the kidnapping. What really bothered me was that even though this was obviously bothering Elizabeth, Nancy was using this FAKE/CARING voice. And when Elizabeth Finally came straight out and said she did not appreciate the line of questioning, Nancy replies with a "I thought you would speak out to other victims", kind of impling that Elizabeth was being uncaring for other victims... Just the whole tone of Nancys voice is enough to make one sick.

And now back to this case, we really do not know how the Mom was talked into the interview, maybe she was told she would be able to give contact info and such only to be forced to defend herself. At one point when she would not give details the mom mentioned she was "told not to give those details", Nancy could have asked by whom(maybe lawyers or police) but instead she pounded on the desk as if not answering to Nancy Grace is some how proof of guilt. If the mom was considered a suspect by the police they were obviously not lettin on to it, FOR A REASON.

Maybe she was, and maybe it was guilt. But the police were on it and they had the mom talking. I dont think it is concrete proof though, I mean if my child had been missing since Aug. 27 I would be suicidal too. And then on top of that having to defend ones self, it could very well push one over the edge.

Remember the Jon Benet, case the Boulder police was a little too aggresive and the parents caught on that they were suspects and instantly lawyered up and never gave them any more info. They still have not solved the case.

With the Susan Smith case, Police suspected her from the first minute but they put the word out within agencies to keep it under wraps. There were even officers on TV news stating point blank that she was not a suspect, while they had officers/fbi watching her every move. She kept talking and talking till she confessed all on her own.

I was basing my statement on this article

http://www.ocala.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060910/NEWS/209100365/1025

where it stated she had been staying with her grandparents for the past few days, they went out to lunch but she did not want to go, and when they got back they found the open shotgun case and she was dead.
Whatever the details, it is a terrible situation all around. Very sad.
