Did anyone watch Nancy Grace last night on CNN about Nixzmary Brown, the 7 year old little girl that was beaten by her step-father? :sad1: I was in tears all night and my heart is still aching this morning!! The details surrounding her abused life were horrid. My heart aches for her and wants her parents to die the same horrid death that she did!! And all these child-welfare workers that stood by and didn't do a thing!!! They should be sentenced to prison as well!!! How can a mother stand by and watch her husband beat her precious little girl for a missing cup of yogurt and a broken printer? Everything that went wrong in that household was all blamed on Nixzmary. There were other children in the house as well but everybody always blamed this poor little 7 year old girl. Her last words were: "Mommy, don't leave me." And her stupid mom, just left her in that dirty room to die!!! :sad1: My heart aches so badly but I'm glad she's in Heaven and not being abused anymore. Then the mother was allowed to attend her funeral and burial and as her little casket was being put in the ground her mother started yelling, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!!" over and over again....well, that's a little too late!!

Two thoughts:
1) Long jail terms (for both)
2) Mandatory sterilization (for both)

Let the flames begin. Just my opinion....

The sickest part of this story is how the mom said "I'm a great mother"...

May she rot in jail like the piece of garbage she is (and the father also).

I heard NY is now trying to pass the Nixzmary law to require manditory life sentences for murdering a child or something of that nature.

And her dirtbag stepfather says he speaks to her ghost in his cell, and asks her whey she put him in this situation!! :headache: :headache:

How about the 45 cent solution for both of them?

C'mon, be serious. They are in New York State.

So am I. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking. Or maybe "an eye for an eye".

Reading this kind of thing makes me so angry! DH and I have been trying to conceive for the last four years, with no success. We are now getting ready for our first IVF attempt. We have suffered through a four year emotional roller coaster ride. The medication has made me moody, tired and weepy. Hoping that each month might be the one, crying when - once again - it wasn't to be.... All we want is a baby... :guilty:

I agree with NJBlackBerry, both these people should be sterilised. I think they have lost the privilege to ever have a child again.

This is the most horrible thing. It's all over the news here. The Department of Child Services had records on her, even went to the house in December, but the step dad didn't let the case worker in, so she left. Hello?! Doesn't that raise a red flag that you've got to get in there and see what the heck is going on? They are now trying to arrange it so case workers can call the Police to make parents let the case workers in. She missed half of school last year and nobody at the school called the Police to go around and see if she was OK. They told children's services but they did nothing. They say on average 25-35 kids who are KNOWN to child services die each year in NYC because they are afraid to take the kids away from these parents because of all the parents' rights issues and because they like to keep kids with their families. But what if the families are toxic? Maybe the mother was abused by the stepfather also and was afraid to stand up for herself and her child. Maybe both parents were on drugs. They had a wake and hundreds of people who didn't even know her showed up. I know people who've struggled to get pregnant, and they would have loved this little girl like no tomorrow had they been given the chance. It makes me sick.

As a mother I cannot imagine another mother putting a man before her children. When God gives you a child your job is to take care of this child and put your life on the line for them if they are in harms way. This woman does not deserve to be called a mother.

As can'twait said, it's been all over the news here in NY. It makes me so sickened, I've had to keep turning off the news. It has also brought back a lot of memories of the Lisa Steinberg case in 1987. It is just inconceivable to me that anyone could repeatedly harm innocent children in this way. I just cannot comprehend it.
