We are bringing all the adults in my husband's family to OKW next May. We will need a GV, 1-bedroom, and possibly a studio. I plan on making all the reservations in just a few weeks at the 11 month window. I know that they have gone to individual names on the room keys now and this raises a couple of questions for us:

1) DH and myself will be arriving a day before everyone else. Can we check everyone in the morning of their arrival and possibly have their room ready, even if we are not staying in the other 2 rooms?
2) We will be the ones staying in the 1-bedroom, but we would like to also have a key for the GV. Is that possible?

I guess with the new policy I am a bit confused. We used to be able to book a number of rooms and I could just go and check everyone in and get as many keys to each room as we needed. Now I am wondering if we will have problems at check-in if everyone is not there and I want a key with my name on it for more than one room.

Hopefully, I am worried about nothing. Thanks for the help!

As long as your name is listed on the reservation for every room, you should have no problems completing the check-in process for your guests. The only problem you may encounter is if having your name on one of the reservations would push the room over the stated occupancy.

Member services will ask you for all of the names when you book. At the very least, make sure your name is among them for each room and you can always modify the exact guest list when you arrive at the resort.

Last month I checked our whole group (of seven) in at OKW. I was the only one at the front desk. Since I am the member & my name was on the reservation, there was no problem. I liked that I had already given Member Services all the names, so that at check-in, the CM only had to verify the names before printing out the cards.

Since you arriving a day ahead, you wont be able to check them in when you check in, but you should have no problem checking in the rest of the rooms the next day. The problem would be if anyone wants charging priveledges on their credit card to charge to the room.

As long as you are planning on 11 or less in the GV, you should have no problem getting a key for that too.

They maybe able to put more than 1 room on your key. One time when I was staying at POFQ with friends, all our keys opened both of our rooms. Since the others are checking in a day later, you would have to get a new key after they check-in (if they allow it).

Now, if we could just get them to go back to each resort having its own style cards.

Thanks for the info! I guess I wasn't sure that they would let someone have keys to multiple rooms over the same stay. But it sounds like it won't be a problem. We only have 6 in the GV, 2 in the 1-bedroom, and a possible 2 in a studio. I can't believe that we will be the ones in the 1-bedroom. But my DH wants his mother to be in the GV and have her own master suite. It's probably for the best. When I go into meltdown I will have a place to escape to. :teeth:

Your MIL will have a LOT of space! The GV master is quite a bit larger than the master in the 1 and 2 bedroom units. She will get lost in it! ;)

I know. We stayed in a GV a couple years ago. I really want to stay in the GV myself. But it is probably for the best. I love his family, but one of his brothers bothers the heck out of me. When we announced that we were treating everyone to the rooms for the trip, he stated that he would rather stay at the Dolphin. And of course I couldn't keep my mouth shut and said, "Go right ahead. No one is stopping you". So right now he is not too thrilled with me.
