Help convince me that a 2 yr old won't be bored on the Fantasy for 7 days... What do you have they can do?

Honestly...I don't see how a 2-year old would be bored anywhere. When mine was 2, she was entertained by pretty much anything. And napped a lot.

On the ship there are the character meet and greets, time in the splash area (or pool if she is potty trained), plus you can take her to the nursery to see if she'd enjoy time there :)

I know you asked about a girl, but I'm not sure why the answer would be gender-dependent so I will contribute based upon what my son liked at that age.

  • Splash area
  • character meets
  • shows
  • kids club during open house
  • Wake up with Disney Junior
  • Dancing to the live bands after dinner
  • Looking out the portholes around the ship
  • Being fussed over by everyone in the crew
We had requests to "go back on Mickey boat" for weeks after our trip ended.

Seriously, the Promenade Lounge on the Magic always had a clutch of little kids dancing with wild abandon when there was live music in there. It was adorable.

I mean you have to make your own fun sometimes. You need to bring some familiar things from home. There aren't a lot of toys on the ship outside of the nursery, which only has limited open house hours in the morning (Don't miss them!). A vacation is all the struggles of home, with the inconvenience of not actually being at home.

@Jess_S has great ideas right there. We spent a lot of time in the spash area. Sometimes characters. We only did one show. We still had nap time, but went from 1 to 2 naps because we had second dinner. We also used the Oceaneers Club/Lab open houses to supplement the Small World Nursery open house.

We still had fun, and have cruised since. It is what you make of it.

My 2.5 yr old son is going on his 4th cruise (he's #4 - can't make the big kids wait for him to grow up, right?). Haven't had an problems with him being bored but I know "2" is a whole new ballgame. He LOVED running around with the big kids doing the muppet detective. Kids club open houses were great and we brought toys for the room. Really, dancing to music, seeing characters, shuffleboard, mini golf, ... free ice cream ... You'll be fine!!

Our DD enjoyed getting popcorn and watching the movies on board.

We did a 3 night with our 2yo daughter in January, and though it was shorter than the 7 night we never got off the ship due to not being able to dock at castaway cay, she definitely never got bored. She LOVES meeting characters and had a blast at the wake up with Disney jr as well. The little bit we did leave her in the nursery she just chilled out and watched frozen, but they have lots of fun toys in there too.

I wouldn’t hesitate to take her on a 7 night, if the opportunity presented itself.

You will have no worries!!! She will have a blast.

Have fun!

My kids are all grown up, but one of my favorite activities on a Disney cruise is counting how many of the under 5 set are dancing in front of the live musical acts. Disney has these acts in some of the lounges and in the atrium at many times. At first they just stare at the performers, then one will start dancing and all of a sudden 4 or 5 will join in and start twirling and dancing at random. Sometimes these impromtu toddler events will consume large areas of the atrium.

Thanks for asking this question. We will be on the fantasy in April with a 7 year old and a 2 year old. I was starting to get worried about the 2 year old and this post has reminded me that everything entertains a 2 year old. :) Thanks.
