Name some things you have done

-Flown on a helicopter that had no doors in Kauai

-Ridden a camel in Grand Canaria (not comfortable!)

-Traversed between two rock formations 200 feet up in the air in Oregon

-Jumped 30 feet off a cliff into the Pacific Ocean

-Seen a humpback whale breach in the ocean from a tiny fishing boat in British Columbia

-Been present at an audience with the Pope in Rome

I'm actually writing some of the things other posters have done down so I can add them to my bucket list!

*I was locked in a zoo (The Texas Zoo) after closing with my very young children. I had to break into the concession stand and call for help - it was before I had a cell phone. (2000)
*Met Barbara Bush and Chuck Norris at the same time.
*Drove 18hours straight to Disney World in a surburban loaded with 8 people
*Experienced an earthquake and a hurricane with my dh and 3 kids
*My high school volleyball team won the national competition in 1986/87
*I rode on an elephant as a child.

touched hillary cilton's shoe
rode a elephant
Hung 200ft over a active waterfall to take the ultimate picture
been to DC three times
collected over 100 police and fire patches

- snowmobiled in Yellowstone - across the Continental Divide - had to stop and wait for bison to get off the road. Saw a momma and baby Moose. Would drive our snowmobiles to the restaurants for dinner out (very cool!)

- have been to England and Ireland - tried to drive - not very successful.

- live 2 miles down the road from where I was raised (NY) - mom still lives in that house, one brother lives 2 miles the other way. we all get together all the time (lucky family!)

- have visited WDW over 20 times

- have visited most of the east coast states, all over Florida many, many times (dh loves to fish in the Keys, I love Disney, kids love doing both), and Mexico

- Have been on 4 cruises (3 Caribbean and 1 New England/Canada, which was our favorite, even the kids loved it best). On one of our cruises, coming back up to NY, we had 24' seas for 24 hours! HORRIBLE is all I can say.

- Homeschool our kids for the past 2 years and LOVE it.

- Own our own business.

- Have been happily married for 19 years and have 2 precious kids :lovestruc

- Knew dh all through school, ran in the same crowds but were never friends (I thought he was mean). We ended up dressing up as the same thing at a halloween party after high school, started talking because of that, and that was it! We got engaged 1 year later on the anniversary of our first date.

- DH and I eloped on Valentines Day... we told no one except my mom, his mom, and my bf and her boyfriend (they stood up for us). I wore my white prom dress that still fit - we were married in a judges livingroom w/ my mom taking pics. We took our 2 friends to a restaurant for dinner, and dh and I went to his dad's condo in Ocean City, MD for a 4 day 'honeymoon'. We were then "married" in a church w/ a real reception a year later. No one found out for years and years.

- watched birds 'giving piggy back rides' on the beach in Florida (as we put it to the kids) - we've never seen birds mating - watched the 'mating dance' and everything.

- I got locked in the Sea Turtle Hospital (florida keys) on a tour. I went to the bathroom, came out, and everyone was gone and I was locked in the building. DH was holding my pocketbook w/ my cell phone in it. I had to find a phone in there, figure out how to call out (push 9, then 1... one of those), and call my dh's cell, which he wasn't answering because he was listening to the tour guide. He finally answered my phone. He and my kids DIDN'T NOTICE I was not there! What the *beep*????? :rotfl:

I got ran over (legs, stomach and off the elbow) by my mother driving forward in her car, she didn't see me, and I survived with minor-ish injuries.

Last Sunday I came down with appendicitis, and didn't show many "normal" symptoms, in fact in the midst of the pain I was starving... I even ate a roast beef sandwich I was so hungry.

I have a photo of the Washington Monument framed by Cherry Blossoms included in an IPOD/IPHONE app.

I have photos of Elvis sitting at a lunch table with my husbands grandfather while in the military.

Walked out of my csr when someone tboned me and put the outside of my door halfway across my drivers side. The paramedics thought they were going to have to use the jaws of life but I was fine and crawled out the other side.

Other than that I've lead a pretty BORING life.

This is an awesome thread! I've really enjoyed reading about what others have done. This thread would be really cool with pictures!!

Here is my list:

I have sung the National Anthem at a Philadelphia Phillies game (as part of a choir, not solo, but still it was so amazing to be out on the field singing)

I have saved two children from choking. My own DD#2 when she was 15 months old, and a stranger's child in a restaurant.

I have rescued 9 dogs and 7 cats.

I spent a semester in London my junior year of college

I went back to London by myself when I was 23 (I missed it)

Hitchhiked on the Isle of Skye

Walked on the Prime Meridian

Rode a camel

I won a trip to London in 2006 and we took the kids.

I've been to the top of the Eiffel Tower 4 times, most recently on September 28, 2010; we were on the top when it was evacuated due to the terrorist threat.

We took our kids backpacking through Europe (Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France) for a month.

I've climbed the Leaning Tower of Pisa

I've seen The David 3 times, also the Sistine Chapel and the Pieta. Breathtaking.

Took a Segway tour of Ancient Rome

Hiked the Cinque Terra in Italy

Hiked 40 miles in Yosemite

Hiked in Berchtesgaden National Park in Germany

Been to Oktoberfest in Munich

Saw the Passion Play in Oberammergau

Cruised the Rhine, twice

Slept in a real castle in Germany

Rode a gondola in Venice

Saw the Mona Lisa

Met 8 of the cast of Battlestar Galactica: Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Michael Hogan, Jamie Bamber, Tahmoh Penniket, James Callis, Aaron Douglas, Richard Hatch. As an aside, RH kissed me, and I am part of Jamie's most bizarre fan encounter. It wasn't my fault - I was double-dog dared. :rolleyes1 (I got him to autograph a cake -with icing- for a bachelorette party...poor guy misunderstood and thought it was the girl's WEDDING cake. Um...no Jamie, we don't love you THAT much. LOL).

I also have met George Peppard and Peter Mahew (Chewbacca)

Met DH on a blind date; happily married over 17 years now.

I have two amazing daughters. One delivered naturally (no medication, I mean) the other was an emergency C-section. Both my girls would have died without modern medicine, and I would have died with DD #2.

I was adopted and have reunited with my birth mother and 3 half-sisters. I have emailed with my birth father but we haven't met yet (due to distance. She lives 20 minutes away; he's on the west coast).

Been to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC

Became an RN when I was only 19.

Homeschooled my children for 4 years now.

I have...
performed in Carnegie Hall (New York)
ridden a camel in front of the Great pyramids of Giza (Egypt)
seen the Sphynx (Egypt)
done a water cannel lovers cruise in Amsterdam

One thing that comes to mind that I haven't read was that when I was a kid, I rode an elephant. There was a very small carnival/circus that came to the parking lot of the store where my mom worked & they had elephant rides for a small fee. My sister & I begged to ride & Mom & Dad let us. It was way cool but boy did (s)he smell.

And another thing, I've been in a train wreck. Really.

Hand fed nurse sharks in Belize

Swam in a river that has crocodiles.... also in Belize

Was in a 3 passenger plane that almost crashed.... also in Belize

Consummated my marriage in a tree house... also in Belize.... :lmao:

Fell off a 12' ladder, landing right on my head, and suffered no damage.... or did I? Maybe not, who knows... what was I saying?

Saw a baseball game while sitting on the roof of the stadium.

Shook Angus Young's hand.

Partied with the band Cinderella.

and way back when, and probably very few will know who this is, but I once drove Ivan Putski to an airport.
