Hi all, hoping someone on here can help! A friend of mine has asked me to help her plan a trip to DLRP this summer, her little girl was just recently diagnosed with diabetes and I wondered if they would qualify for that pass you can get from City Hall to cut down on the waiting/queuing?
However I couldn't remember the name of it, and I didn't want to raise her hopes telling her about it before I knew what their chances might be of getting one. I know it sounds totally unconnected.....why would they need it when diabetes is diet related but they will also have to ensure very careful monitoring as her blood glucose levels will be unpredictable because of all the excitement
and activity as well.
So if any helpful disers know the correct name of the pass and maybe if there is a list of recognised conditions it is available for, that would be super ?

Thank you :goodvibes:goodvibes K

I *think* its the easy access pass. I cant offer anymore help though sorry.
I imagine diabetes could be included as with blood sugar levels all the standing about in heat wouldnt be advisable.

Thank you very much, at least I can phone and ask now that I know what it is called :) Also glad you understand, thought I might sound a bit mad as most people don't realise that the excitement and extra and additional activity can play havoc with their glucose levels ......and I hadn't even thought about the heat :thumbsup2

Cheers K

Will you let us know what the outcome is? Did you read thru the useful info sticky? I cant on my fone sorry but it might have info that relates to your friend.
I see how diabetes affects my parents who are both in their sixties so I can only imagine what havoc it creates for a small child with a huge change of routine & with a limited dietary choice like you'd have at DLP.

I'm not even sure if there is an actual list. :confused3

Hopefully there won't be a problem, especially if their GP writes clearly on the letter they take that she's newly diagnosed.

All good, as long as they have a letter from the Dr detailing a recognisable condition, it seems all conditions are considered! hope I have understood that correctly? Thanks for tall the help! K

That's the way I understand it, Kaye, that they tailor the pass according to each individual's needs. And the letter from the GP needs to be recent as in no older than 3 months.

Hope she has a wonderful time, I must admit I didn't realise how serious diabetes was until my MIL was diagnosed approx 20 years ago now, OK I know there are far worse things but it's not a fun condition to live with.
