My dh & I will be hopefully getting some adult alone time while at WDW this fall with our two children (inlaws will be there for 1st half of trip) and wondering what romantic ideas have people done that didn't cost and arm and a leg - lets say under $50.00. I am planning a surprise cake to be delivered to our room but wondering what else we could do inexpensively to celebrate...we had our honeymoon at WDW in 99 and LOVE all things Disney...so help me plan & surprise...

Oh, there are plenty of romantic things my husband and I do every time we go to Disney. Many of them don't cost anything at all. Of course, it all depends on what your idea of romantic is, and what type of personality you have.

For example, I find that a stroll through the garden next to Cinderella's castle after dusk is lovely, as are walks through the back parts of the World Showcase exhibits in Epcot (did you know there is a maze in the UK, for example?)

Every night, there's a campfire at Fort Wilderness where they do a sing-a-long and play old movies. It's for kids and families, but we like to go and snuggle against each other (it gets chilly at night), eat roasted marshmallows, etc.

The Mexico pavillion at Epcot is absolutely stunning on the inside. Go and have lunch at the restaurant there, ask for a table on the river. It's beautiful. (Lunches are always less expensive ways to have a table service meal at Disney.)

There is often a jazz band playing in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. Someone might have a schedule somewhere on here. Call the front desk there to find out when they'll be playing, and go there to dance :)

Taking a walk along the Seven Seas Lagoon from the MK entrance toward the GF is lovely at night. The water softly lapping over the sand, the lights from every direction - the peacefulness, the solitude - oh, trust me, it's heavy duty romantic.

Romantic things:

Find a park bench at dusk and watch the people go by.

Coffee and a shared dessert in France.

Walking the countries after dark.

Sharing a dessert or hot dog in MK with the castle in the background.

Watching the fireworks from the beach.

Watching the fireworks from your room (with a bottle of wine and two Mickey glasses).

All under $50 and can be lots of fun. :teeth:

Stroll along the torch lit paths at the polynesian. Listen to the music of the luau or the piped in music on the paths. Price: priceless.

Also,

Take a walk along the walk path of OKW and AKL.

Sit on the beach at Y&BC - grab a bottle and two glasses...

AKL's bonfire.

Port Orleans riverside and Fort Wilderness have 30 minute carriage rides for $30. Watching the fireworks from the Polynisian Resorts beach.
You could also post your question on the honeymoon forum. There will be lots of ideas there.

Walking through World Showcase in the evening is very romantic. You can sit in the various gardens, have a glass of wine at an outdoor table, and grab dessert from the Bakery in France.

the first thing that came to mind is a walk on the beach at the GF at night. very romantic and very inexpensive. you can see that lagoon light parade for free.

get an expresso or glass of wine and dessert and just relax at the little tables outside the french bakery...at night with the little lights twinkling you can pretend you're in paris! very romantic imo and cheap

edited cause i really need to read the rest of thethread before i reply....well i agree with the one above who just said this same thing!

hmmm wonder if you can "make out" in the HM ride???

after 24 years, I'll test it out in a month and report back to you!! ;)

One of the things that we did on our last trip was walk on the Boardwalk at night. It was a wonderful experience. DW loved the Magician there that night. He hit her funny bone just right and made the night memorable.

Talk to your travel agent (if you have one). We were there celebrating our 12th Anniversary and the TA arranged for us to get an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie. That was fantastic and didn't cost us a thing extra.

Headed to Disneyland in 24 days!! :cheer2:

Kiss him, like you kissed him at your wedding, in front of of the castle in the MK in the middle of a crowd. :flower:

Tested.

Just be careful, as there are some sections of the ride that you can see people a few cars ahead, and a few cars behind ya.

Night time make out on the TTA afterall the kids don't call it the MAKEOUT WAY for nothing:d

Just remember there are cameras everywhere even places you wouldn't dream of but then again if I gonna get caught on cam I'd rather it was by peeps I didn't know than those I know.;)

Pack an empty hanger decorated with ribbons give it to hubby tell him it's your new invisible nightie and promise to wear it often. Free in room entertainment there.

Just don't end up needing the shirt I bought my preggers DD that says It started with a kiss and ended up like this!

I am with Eeyore45 but we like Spaceship Earth at Epcot for a little dark lovin!!

Oh my!!! My only thought of something romantic to do at WDW that doesn't cost anything is...well....you know!!!

But hey....I've been trying to get preggers for YEARS!!! I would love to bring home a "little souvenier"!!

strolling the boardwalk at night great romantic ambiance, dropping in for a drink at jellyrolls, renting a surrey bike or grabbing a crepe on a stick for a snack & watching the water roll by.

have dinner at ohana's at the polynesian resort large family style meal with fun entertainment, i think $22pp. then stroll the beach at the polynesian grab a hammock & watch the magic kingdom fireworks.

enjoy your favorite wdw rides, wear matching shirts & get lots of photopass pictures to remember all your fun, also watching any of the firework shows hand in hand.

at your resort relax in the hot tub or order in room dining chocolate covered strawberries & wine.

take a carriage ride at port orleans riverside or ft wilderness, $35.

club hop at dtd, admission is included in some tickets or like $20pp. make sure to split a ghiradelli sundae on your way over.

May I offer another suggestion at the MK (so far HM and TTT have been suggested and both are great in my opinion) is riding DUmbo as the lights of the castle change. We did this a couple of years ago when we celebrated our 25th.

Way back in September of 2002, my honey and I took a carriage ride at dusk over at FW. It was only $30+tip, but with the time we took off from the parks, the dinner, and the carriage ride, it just made for a wonderful romantic evening. Our ride was just at dusk and there were several bunnies and a few deer that came out to join us. It was really great. I think our driver's name was Linda and Scotty was our horse.

It's one of the best memories of that trip. That trip was certainly magical. Maggie
