Naked Sushi

we have an upscale restaurant in our area that did this as a fund-raiser. They have a man and woman in skimpy bathing suits. They then cover then up some more with banana leaves and lay out sushi on them. There is a fuss here because they are doing it again. Apparently city counsel is upset and is threatening them with some sort of action.
Do you think this is in poor taste. Would you have a fit if it was going on in your neighborhood? These are the complaints city counsel is making and that it brings down the tone of the shopping center. This is a fairly expensive event to attend with limited seating.
I can't even imagine if I had a fantastic body image being able to lay their perfectly still with no facial expressions while people walked around me commenting and picking sushi off of my body.

Can't say I would ever go to it, I have enough food issues and picking it off some persons body and eating it would be WAY to much for me but I could care less if anyone else wanted to do it...you don't like it , don't go...pretty simple.

It surely does have the desired effect -- attracting attention. I suspect someone's also getting a good laugh out of raising the hackles of the prudes in the community.

They did this on one season of the Surreal Life (the one with Adrienne Curry and Christopher Knight). Adrienne said that dinner would be on her that night, and that's exactly what it was...she was completely nude except for banana leaves, and had the sushi sitting on her.

While I wouldn't personally go and do it, if it's a fundraiser and people want to go, who cares?

tiggeroo - I live in the same town as this restaurant. Apparently the town thinks it's in poor taste and I tend to agree. It just doesn't fit with the town. (that's just my opinion though and everyone is entitled to their own) I want to add that this really doesn't bother me in any way, it's just not something that I think goes with our town here. This hasn't caused any type of uproar that I know about within the town either. Oh and one more thing, just because I don't think it's appropriate does not make me a prude.

Good to hear from somebody in the town. I'm two towns over but I work at your high school. Nope you are not a prude. You have your town to think about and only the people who live there have a right to say.
You know how the radio guys are, and they're not even from SJ. They covered it for an afternoon and got alot of calls on the topic.

Some of the radio personalities around here are morons. And it doesn't apply to them, like you said, they don't live here. As far as I know noone here is freaking out or anything. I think the people here just mostly feel it's in poor taste.
