I’m glad Pete and the crew spoke about this but I’m even prouder of Ryno for saying something people just don’t seem to get. Location matters! While John and Pete may feel safe, many others don’t. I wonder if they would feel this safe if they were Brown or Black gay men. It’s an important conversation because yes, in the Disney bubble or in Miami one may feel safe, but outside of that? BIG Yikes!

If you listen to my conversation with Ryno you know I said 'I respect your perspective but I can't experience what you experience, I am not you, I can only share my experience'.

That extrapolates out to any person of color. I do not know what it's like to be a person of color so I can't speak to how you should or should not feel I can only speak to how I, as an out gay man, feels in my neighborhood, town, daily life and when I go to Disney.

I sincerely hope that what is going on right now does not affect anyone's love for or enjoyment of the theme parks (Disney or others) and does not prevent anyone from coming to Florida. But, if it does, I respect your decision and your feelings.

You assume that hasn't been done. Again, it's apparent the moderators/admins have a certain political slant/bias that is diametrically opposed to the rules of the disboards when it comes to no politics and no personal attacks. Is what it is I guess, but I would say not only leftists are fans of Disney, so the discussion boards should be more inclusive.

I am sorry that you feel excluded, but having received a few slapped wrists from the mods/admins, I can assure you that there is no political bias. The fact that you have seen no mention of recent indictments(U.S.) or resignations (U.K.) is indisputable proof of that.

Politics can be divisive, but being described as having conservative, socialist, liberal values (note no capital letters) is neither political nor divisive, and definitely should never be considered an insult. I think that the world is on very dangerous ground if every opinion expressed has a political label attached to it.

I find it "interesting" that this thread has not been locked for its overt political content, when other threads are immediately locked if a more "conservative" view is expressed. Puzzling

After seeing much of this locking and deleting my conclusion is that it is inconsistently applied. There's no consistent definition of what is political for the mods or the public to abide by. If there is then it's inconsistently applied.

Much appreciated and yes, your statement was empathetic. Many people here don’t get that because they believe racism and acts of bigotry have to be overt to exist when it can be as small as not looking you in the eye, or how you’re spoken to. It’s not always violent yet still impacts people. Does it mean you stop living your life? No! But you won’t catch me outside the confinement of Disney until FL starts eradicating the danger and makes it very clear that everyone is safe.
