Na’vi river worth it?

What about watching the movie makes this ride better? We waited about an hour to ride it. While it was visually pretty, it just seemed pretty much like a bunch of plants and I can't imagine what about watching the movie would make it that much better of a ride??

I don't know that watching the movie would make the ride better, but if one likes the movie and the world it presents, it might bring a greater appreciation for the ride despite it's shortcomings.
