N Port FL resident? UPDATE - FRIEND OK!

UPDATE 8/17 - Got an email from my friend, all are OK. Thanks to everyone - this board is the best!


I have not been able to contact my best friend (since 3rd grade and we're in our 40s now) since Hurricane Charley. Her phone line stays busy, her cell phone connects to someone else, her husband's cell phone says out of order, and her parents aren't responding to their email (and they have an unlisted number I don't know).

If anyone in North Port Florida knows Diane and Blake Beerbower (he is a charter fishing boat captain, she works in another town, don't know which one) and knows that they are OK, can you please contact me and let me know? I'm hoping they are just out of power, but they lived in an area surrounded by trees, so there could be some major damage.

I know it's difficult...but I just talked to friends via work email and the are in the orlando area and they are told they won't have power until at least 8/24, over a week away.... So, if they were on the west coast of florida it could be much much longer....

You could contact the local sheriff's office and find out if there is any way to track them down...
