When you are all finished eating and it's time to pay do you just hand the server your room key and tell them you have the dining plan? What if you want to use the dining plan for the adult meals but want to pay cash for the kids, can that be done? And if so, how do you go about doing that?

Also I'd love to hear any recent reports on using the dining plan. I read the HUGE long thread already, but thought some more recent reviews might be coming in this week. :)

Thanks!!!

Hi
i am hoping it is that easy, we will be there the 3-10 and i have worked this plan to really maximize our dining. We are getting to eat a lot of nice, sit-down meals, and for us, that is a wonderful part of a vacation.

i do have us paying cash for my 4 year old so we can bank her credits for the extra sit down meals i have scheduled.

i have read a lot about people doing this, i am just paranoid that they will change that by the time i get there. :rolleyes1

Hi Erika!! Can't wait to see you on TV again especially since I've followed your posts a bit...
As your for MYW dining question.....it's a good one !! So I will give you a bump and watch for an answer too !! I can't decide whether or not we should do the dining package this summer. We are doing a Grand Gathering and I am so "on the fence" over this that I am driving everyone nuts !!

I think you want to tell your server about the dining plan and any other plans you have for dividing up the ticket before you order. Seems this would make things easier and answer any questions before you get a surprise on the bill.

Tell your server about MYW dining and any out-of-pocket meals BEFORE you order. That way they will have a "heads up" to divide the bill appropriately for you.

The CM's were VERY appreciative when we let them know ahead of time that we had the dining plan. Especially when we were paying out of pocket for the kids. :)

I noticed at some buffet meals (like Crystal Palace) the server actually asked for the card right away and brought the bill out right away for us to sign. It was GREAT not having to wait for bills and receipts when the park was calling our names. ;)

How do you save credits from your kids to adults?

the credits all go into a "bank". You can use them however you want to. I figure i might as well pay cash for her which will be about $10, and use the sit down credits for more meals overall. I have us booked for 6 sit down dinners, which accounts for 17 credits(the brown derby is 2, and we are using one credit for our daughter at the princess lunch). We are also scheduled for chef mickeys and boma for breakfast(4 sit down credits)

Also, because we are eating such large dinners, we are going to split counter service lunch and breakfast. I know that with me and dh both getting an entree, side, dessert and drink for lunch and breakfast, there will be plenty for my 4 and 1 year olds to share.
