MYW with Dinning Option - I'm New sorry if in wrong place.

Hi Everyone...I have read these threads for sometime now but this is my first post. Everyone here is so knowledgable.

We are a frequent Disney guest. I travel there often for vacation and business. I received a letter from Disney in June regarding a stay at the deluxe resorts for 199/night garden view room. We haven't stayed at the Poly for some time and we decided to stay there for this AWESOME Rate.

However, we usually get the Dinning packages through a Vacation Package. When I made the reservation, I asked the CRM if I could buy my MYW with Dinning option tickets later, as I needed to finalize a head count. She said it would be no problem and that adding the dinning was 36.50/night in addition to the Park Hopper pass price. I called again last week and again, it was confirmed that I could do this. I called yesterday to buy our tickets and was told you can only buy the dinning package as part of a package and my rate was room only so I could NOT buy the dinning package. If I added on the Dinning Package, my room rate would go up to what it normally is.

We have not been to disney in maybe 10 years without a dinning package, and I absolutely HATE the thought of not having it. We have estimated it has saved us thousands of dollars over the years (*The old Gold and Silver).

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I am so stressed out over this!!! My husband literally doesn't want to go unless we can get this..he likes to gorge himself for 5 days.

The dining package can only be added on to a package. If you have a room only reservation, you can't add it on without switching to a package.

The cast member is correct. You have a discounted room only rate, so you can't add dining without buying a package. Sorry!

I'm sorry as well, but that is correct. You cannot book a MYW package with dining, with any type of discount. That is why you cannot use a code, not that one is avail. but you wouldn't be able to use it. There has been a lot of "conflict" about booking a package, and getting the AAA discount, for those who have said they've gotten it and then come back and post the amount paid, it's been "verified" that they did NOT get the discount. Still though, some will insist that they did......... I'm not one to argue the point, if you or anyone could get a discount, I say go for it, and good for you.

However, the CM was correct, you are not suppose to be able to do it, and most won't do it. Have a wonderful trip though.......... don't let this spoil it.

When I booked my package thru AAA I DID get a room discount -- package was several hundred cheaper then if I booked same exact thing directly. I think you may have to book via a AAA Travel agent to get the discount. When the free dining came out though I changed my reservation to receive the free dining. With the free dining the AAA discount on the room was no longer available.

AAA members can get a AAA discount off the room portion of a MYW package + dining if they book directly through a AAA travel agent. We're saving about $254. Otherwise, you have to pay rack rate and purchase at least a one day MYW ticket for each person in the room (as part of a package to get the dining plan). You can always get an online quote at Disney's website, then compare a AAA quote to make sure you're getting the AAA Magic Moments discount. They are subject to availability.

I did read some posts early in the year where people had special email or postcard codes that allowed both the discounted room rate and the dining as part of a package. Some sort of "jump code" or something... but I haven't heard anything recently.
