Okay, this may be a dumb question, but on our last trip to WDW, we got 7 day MYW hoppers (the expiring kind) and they were coded onto our room keys. Mid-trip, I changed them/upgraded them to non-expiring b/c we ended up having 3 days left on all of them and wanted to save those for a future trip.

Now that I'm back home, I'm wondering what they will do when I return someday and ask to redeem those tickets by presenting them with my old room keys with our previous trip dates on them. Will they issue me new tickets, transfer them to new room keys, or something else? Just curious. TIA

You will simply continue to use them off the resort ID they are on. It doesn't matter what the dates say on the resort ID as they have nothing to do with the park admissions anymore.

If your next stay is at a Disney resort, you can have the leftover admissions transferred to the new ID unless you are purchasing some new admissions to go on the ID. They are not allowed to mix park admissions purchased at different times onto an ID or even onto another ticket.
