A little infor before i go into my concern
we will be at the world for 11 days 10 nights staying at ASMo.
2 of those day we will be at universal
1 more at seaworld
so that leaves us technically 7 days with 1 up for grabs

as of right now we have a 6 day MYW w/ water option and the cost for that is $765.00 for 2 adults 1 child 6yo (not counting the room price this is just for the tix)
We def want the dining plan so we have to keep at LEAST 1 day MYW to still get that.
NOW
MH gets a discount thru work and here are our options with them:

1. Get 5 days for the price of 3 with PH--> $246 each adult $215 child

2. 5-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper® Option --> $250 adult $217 child

3. 5-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Water Park Fun & More Option --> $244.40 each adult $223.00 child

4. ADULT 5-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper® AND Water Park Fun & More Options + a choice of THREE (3) of the following parks:
* Downtown Disney® Pleasure Island
* Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
* Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
** Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex
*** DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park
$292 adults $253 child

SOOOO....here is my dilema:

should i get the 5 day either PH or water option (choice 1 -3)and PRAY for a code to come out in jan so i can get both of these anyway? and do only 1 MYW thru disney
for a total of 6 days anyway saving anywhere form $40-$58

should i keep things the way they are and let it be and hopefully get a discount once a jan code comes out?

should i got with option 4 since we are getting the additional parks and pay and extra $70 from the disnet package price?

any insight would be great i am looking at so many # my brain frizzled:scared:

I haven't had enough coffee yet to read all your options but wanted to add that the ticket you have to buy for the dining the one day ticket is good for ever if you don't use it so you could save it and apply it to your next trips ticket if that helps. That is what we did. We bought our passes off another site and used an old ticket up for my DH and have saved the 4 single day tickets to apply to our passes for the next trip. They cost too much as a single day to just use as a single day!

It's easy to get caught up in the numbers game, but let's revisit the basic marketing idea behind how Disney prices their tickets. They want you to stay for a while, and to do that, the costs of the tickets are very front loaded. That is, the incremental cost of adding days decreases as you add more days. If you look at a raw price list, it's easy to see that the "5 days for the price of 3" does save you a few dollars, but on the order of $10-12 per ticket you're going to have a very hard time--if even possible at all--messing with your different combinations of tickets to even see any overall benefit with something like that.

Let's look at it a different way, which will hopefully suffice to prove that your overall cost, for this trip by itself (assuming you don't plan on using no expiration or something else so that what you do now has a residual value on your next trip, that is):

A 1-day MYW ticket, after tax, costs 75/63 (adult/child). So, a total of 213.
6-day MYW/waterpark costs 284/246, a total of 814.
(I'm using latest ticket prices including tax)

So, if you were to buy the bulk of tickets on your own, but still leave the one day, you need to buy five days worth of passes, and spend less than 814-213 = $601. It's easy enough to see that the options you've listed here are not even close to making that kind of budget. Even looking at the most basic tickets that I found quickly through an online discounter, you're looking at 220/184 for 5-days with no add-ons, and still that's not enough to make up the difference. The take away message from all this? Don't frustrate yourself over it, because it's very unlikely you're going to gain anything.

One question I will offer, though, is how many days do you plan on using a water park or other "extra"? If it's only for one day, then get the tickets without the water park add-on, and pay for the waterpark separately.

It seems you were curious about option 4, but notice that it would cost you nearly $850, on top of having to pay for the one-day MYW. If you want the park hopper and waterparks and more, just add it to your existing 6-day MYW (you can even do that at the gate, you don't have to do it now)

Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi! I'm not sure if you booked with a travel agent, but if so, then make them deal with this delima for you! Also, when you book with most travel agents, and they are good, they will be constantly on the look out for the best deal for you, even after you've booked. And if there is a better deal, they can switch you to it! Disney is constantly coming out with new packages that may help you with your delima. I'm not sure if this helps or not.
