MYW tickets to APs at WDW?

Ok so I've been asking a ton of questions about APs...sorry. I just want to make sure I have all the info right before I do it. We are planning a few trips within the next year so plan to book MYW tickets but upgrade to APs on trip #1 once we get there. My reason for this is that we have other people in our party who won't be upgrading and I think that when you book a package, everyone has to have the same tickets.

So my plan is to buy MYW tix for trip #1, upgrade to APs at park

Trip #2, buy 1 day park hoppers when we book (so we can get dining plan) and upgrade DDs tickets to appropriate number of days when we get there (DD will only be 2 on trip #1 and won't need tickets)

Trip #3, do same as trip #2.

I can do this right?

Yes, you can take the MYW tickets you buy and use them as credit toward purchas of new APs. This has to be done at a ticket window or Guest Relations window at one of the theme parks or at Downtown Disney, however; you can't do it at the resort.

And yes, you can book a MYW package with just a 1-day base ticket, then use that ticket as credit toward APs, or upgrade it with more days or options.
