MYW tickets... Question in light of FP/FP+

In light of all the recent discussions of "double/triple" dipping with the FP system I have a question.

Let me preface by saying that I am aware that there is talks that Disney will be stopping the issuing of KTTW cards starting next week at select/all resorts... but for the sake of argument- please "assume" for OP question purposes, that this doesnt happen (or that if a guest asks specifically for back up KTTW cards they will be given, even if not offered initially)

As a DVC member, I have never bothered with the whole "use your KTTW card as your park pass" bit... since we always either had APs or MYW cards purchased through UT. We still used the KTTW card for charging purposes etc... but nothing associated to the park ticket itself.

NOW... since we have signed up for MB, and linked our passes to our account... does that mean that if we request back up KTTW for our party, that the tickets (despite not being purchased through Disney), will be linked to them? Will I then be able to use my MB to enter the park, and then use the KTTW card at FP Kiosks to pull passes for additional attractions (if available)?

In addition... once linked to your KTTW card, does it make your UT tickets/AP cards obsolete? Or can those TOO be put in the FP Machines?

Just trying to get a handle on the whole KTTW thing... even if it may go away starting next week!

When we checked into GF yesterday we were not given KTTW only told to use our magic bands for everything. We did not push the issue since we didn't expect to even use the 3 FPs we had on the bands for this trip. We actually checked in at the Villas and I don't know that they even had printers to print out cards(we couldn't see any at the check in desks.) or just planned on using MB only for the guests there.

Yeah.. that's my fear- that they may disappear entirely... but if anyone has insight on my question (from anyone who has used this "double dipping" as a DVC member over the last few months), it will keep me from going crazy with curiosity! Even if it will be irrelevant by my check in date... I would still like to know if my theory is correct!

Eventually, the legacy FP system will be removed and the only options will be FP+ or standby.

We stayed at AKV Jambo House from 10/3 to 10/6. We got MagicBands and KTTW cards. We have APs and those can't be put onto KTTW cards. I was able to get legacy FPs using both the KTTW cards and our RFID APs.

We were given KTTW cards at okw and good thing because our magic bands wouldn't unlock the door..only the kttw would. We didn't need it though for anything else..the bracelet is enough for EMH no need to flash kttw. We had uct tickets and they did work in the fastpass machines. ..never tried using the kttw in them
