Hello all,

I am going to book my trip today and need some help. My hubby and I have our trip planned out, and will not be park hopping on any of the days. HOWEVER, if Rivers of Light in AK opens up during our trip you'd better believe I'll be high-tailing it over there to see it! It would be cheaper to just add another day ticket than to pay for the park hopper feature. Is this how it works? Go to MK earlier that day = one day ticket, and then hop over to AK in the evening and that would use another day's ticket? Or should I just pay for park hopper to avoid any confusion? Thanks in advance for any help!

If you have a multi-day ticket, you can only redeem one day from it, per day. If you want to visit a second park on the same day, you have to pay for park-hopping.

No hopper option means only one theme park per day.

The minute Disney realized this would save people money they stopped it Park hoppers are more valuable, non monetary wise, the fewer days you are there. If the Rivers of Light is the only thing that would have you going to AK, I wouldn't bother with a park hopper, as it's still very up in the air as to when Rivers of Light will premiere or be ready.

I would simply book with a base-ticket. If Rivers of Light is announced and you want to hop, you can always add that feature to your ticket. Or, why not just see it on your AK day, if you plan to go?

I see that idea get posted so often, but it is simply not the case.

The hopper as an option premiered when Disney developed the current "Magic Your Way tickets" system.
Hopping was offered as a option rather than all guests simply paying for that feature whether they used it or not.

That's not to say that I think park tickets are underpriced (or even a special value,)
but the hopper option was not an afterthought based on an attempt to stop guests trying to gouge the system.
