I was wondering about making changes to a package after it is paid in full. We are going in August for the start of free dining and right now I don't know what day we will be checking out. It depends on wether we fly or drive. So my first question is can I reduce my stay by one day even after I have paid for it?

Also, we have booked POFQ but if POP becomes available I would prefer to stay there. So my second question is can I down grade the resort after I have paid? The difference in money between the two resorts is $500. Will they just refund the money?

I have to pay for it by July 12 so I don't know if there will be any cancelations before that day.

Their terms and conditions follow:

Cancellation and Change Fees Prior to Guest Arrival
No refunds will be given to no shows.
Cancellation of Reservation - If the reservation is cancelled, amounts paid, minus cancellation fees and other amounts owed, will be refunded. For a cancellation made 44 to 6 days prior to guest arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $100 per package, plus any cancellation fees assessed by hotels or other suppliers. For a cancellation made 5 days or less prior to guest arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $200 per package, plus any cancellation fees assessed by hotels or other suppliers; provided, however, that for a cancellation of a Grand Gathering experience add-on option made 5 days or less prior to the experience date, no refund will be given.
Guest will be responsible for any cancellation fees assessed by an airline. In the case of a non-refundable airline ticket, the cancellation fee is equal to the entire ticket price. Cancellation of a refundable airline ticket must be made at least 1 business day prior to guest departure.
Vacation insurance is nonrefundable. Upon any cancellation, the charge for vacation insurance will be added to the other applicable cancellation fees.
Changes to Reservation - For a change made 44 days or less prior to guest arrival that results in a change in the package price, a change fee of $50 per package, plus any change fees assessed by hotels or other suppliers, will be charged. Disney reserves the right to restrict changes to any reservation. Such change fees must be paid in addition to any increase in the package price resulting from the change. If air travel has been ticketed, guest will be responsible for any increase in airfare as well as the change fee assessed by the airline.

I'm hoping someone here has an answer.

If I have to call WDTC I will, but they are not overly forthcoming with information. I did ask about reducing the stay by one day after I have paid and the CM just said "oh ya". He did not offer any further information. I did read the policy(on the WDW website) that the PP has quoted and it appears to me, from that, that there would be a penalty.

Anyone else have any info???????
 
I think they pretty much assess the penalty at the time. Do all possible to make changes prior to your final pymnt date.
