I've been looking everywhere trying to figure this out. Do the MYW tickets put an end to the LOS tickets we bought upon check-in (when you could drop one day, etc.)? I seem to be able to only find out prices about MYW tix so I'm assuming that's the only option anymore. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

The Unlimited Park Hopper is gone.

In its place, you can purchase the MYW pass for the number of days you will be visiting, and add park hopping and the Plus package.

It's an entirely different way of issuing passes, and you can't even jump to the conclusion that a price increase was arbitrarily included. The more days you purchase, the less you will pay per day. Those purchase MYW passes of shorter durations that are equivalent to the old PHPs or UHPs will probably find they are paying more for the admission media. Those purchasing longer passes (particularly 7 or 10 days) will find they are actually paying LESS than under the old format.

Basically, there are two options now....MYW tickets or the Annual Passes. Of course, the MYW tickets have many options themselves. If you're looking at a longer stay, or can do two trips within a year, the AP might very well be the best bet with the current significant DVC discount.

Ah, it feels good to actually be talking about a real discount instead of dreaming about it! :D

Thanks you guys! We did buy AP's on our last trip so we will use them for our upcoming May vacation. I will then buy a 4-5 day MYW tic for my mom who is joining us. I guess it will only get a little more confusing in 2006 when I have to recommend tickets for our Grand Villa gathering for 10. Fortunately, that's a long way off.

Are we going to get a DVC discount on these tickets?

Nothing has been announced. I wouldn't count on it. There are advance purchase discounts that anyone can take advantage of. But it appears our only discount will be on the Annual Passes.

I wasn't aware of advance purchase discounts, what is the discount and do you purchase through the disney store?
We have PAP but my parents are coming for their first visit with us Spring Break and I'm trying to get them as much info as possible.

DVC has only offered one discount at a time in the past so I would bet not.

Well after a long thought process, we just gave in and purchased the 10 day MYW tickets, with all the bells and whistles. for 3 adults and 1 child it came to $1,567.58. We are going in Feb and will only do the parks 2-3 days, really doubt we will be back within a year, so didn't want to waste money on the AP. Works out to be $39.19 pp per day for the parks, (not including any of the pluses), still seems to be a cheaper option than buying just a 2 or 3 day pass. Plus we will probably get 3-5 trips out of these tickets!! Just wish I still had my notes to compare this price to the old PHP tickets!!! Anyone know what the 10 day with pluses costed for an adult?

Don't know about the Disney Store, but there are many places you can purchase them on-line. You could start at www.waltdisneyworld.com. If you purchase from there you will pay less than the "gate" price.

For a rundown of Disney's current prices and offerings, check here:

http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/ticketchart.htm

Bear in mind that all of the third-party vendors that have been around for years will also be selling discounted MYW passes. Some even still have Hopper passes in stock (while supplies last) if you'd rather go with something familiar. Try these sites to compare prices:

www.mapleleaftickets.com
www.ticketmania.com
www.officialticketcenter.com

ClarabelleCow: According to Allearsnet.com, the 10-day UPH was $436.66 adult / $349.34 child (those are the advance prices). Looks like you saved a few bucks AND have passes that won't expire in 10 days. :)
