Ok, so when we go to Disney, we take the EARLIEST possible flight so we can get there in enough time to hit the parks as soon as we arrive. We then schedule the LATEST possible flight for the last day, so we can squeeze every bit of magic out of our vacation before heading back to our real lives. But, from what I understand, with MYW tickets, they only are in 7 day increments. Is this right??? We're going May 23-30 and when I got my confirmation, it said that we will have Park Hopper passes for 7 days, even though we will be there 8 days. I emailed customer service after being on hold FOREVER on the phone, but I haven't received a reply. Can someone explain this to me?

When MYW first came out, the passes were only available in 1-7, and 10 days. While I don't believe they are selling them separately, you can now add 8 and 9 day passes to the packages. If you can get through without being on hold too long, they should be able to modify it to 8 day MYW passes now. Good luck! :cheer2:

THANK YOU so much!!! I will try to do that tomorrow!! I hope it doesn't cost two arms and a leg but heck, you only go to WDW once in a lifetime, right? Oops, I mean once a year!!!! Yeah, that's the ticket!!!!!

Ok, so here's my update!!!! I called WDW today and talked to THE NICEST CM. Anyway, I asked about being there for 8 days but only having tickets for 7 and she said I could "modify" my reservations. Now, I'm thinking, "THIS is going to cost MONEY!" I asked her to just run the numbers for me because I figured if it was over $50, I wasn't doing it. Well, she sounded SO surprised when she got the answer! For THREE tickets to be converted from 7 day PH to 8 day PH, it was $8.71 TOTAL!!!!!!!!! So we upgraded to another full day of PHing for less than $10 for THREE people!! I'm SO excited!!!  :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cool1: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: I  Disney!!! :wizard: :teeth: :)

The good part of these new tix is that they reward longer stays. The downside is to day trippers, I guess. I have a friend who is doing the Orlando theme parks in March and wants one day at the MK. Not only are one-days very expensive now, she is frustrated that she can't even buy them ahead. They are only at the gate now and she dreads waiting in the line.

Some of my extended family have 5 day hoppers. Can they exchange them for 7 day MYW tickets? If so what kind? Can they get 7 day that expire since this would be about the same money they paid for the 5 day hoppers?

RE: Trading up a 5 day hopper to 7 day MYW

The rule is, the new ticket must to the extent possible have all the attributes of the old. In your case the MYW ticket you end up with has to have non-expiration and hopping. This tends to detract from the bang for the buck of trading in old tickets.

Can your budget withstand ten day non-expiring tickets? Can you see yet another Disney vacation coming up far off in the future? If you get the ten day non-expiring and use seven days now, you have three days left plus the old 5 day hoppers for the next trip, probably the best bang for the buck you can achieve.

Or just get all new expiring passes (7 day) saving the old hoppers. Maybe some day you will be a day tripper and old tickets are excellent for isolated single and two day trips.

Unfortunately many guests get upset when they couldn't execute the ticket trade they were thinking of, because friends told about a better deal when the ticket agent didn't enforce the rules, or maybe it was the person ahead of them in line who got the better deal by accident.

Still another idea, some family members use two old hoppers (carry only one at a time in your pocket) other family members get new tickets.

Thank you forthe help. The truth is we have AP but the extended family is making this a one and only trip. (that is what i thought when I first went too. :rotfl: ) Anyway, I was the one who told them to go out and get tickets before the change and now feel bad that they could have had two more days on their ticket cheaper or the same if I woud have had them wait. :sad2:
