We started this past week to make reservations for the Magic your way and to add the dining feature. However we are staying for 14 nights and looking for the 10 day premium pass and to add the dining feature to that.

Called & Disney has set it up so that you have to book two seperate vacations to add on the dining plan for any trip longer than 8 nights/7 days. Am I crazy, or did they try and make it so that the longer you stay the more you save. Then change it and make it so you can't add dining??

Please If anyone gets info on them changing this let us know.
We currently have two vactions booked back to back to create one big vaction. But if it where done all together I am sure we would save hundreds!

Hello, I am new to this board and I have the same question. In the past I could book a trip with meals for longer than 8 nights, but now all the CMs I talk to on the phone say they cannot book it for longer than 8 nights.
Does any one know if disney will change this? It causes my vacation price to go up if it is not booked continuously.

Thank-you,
Michael M-O-U-S-E

Well if anyone finds a way to solve the problem and not to have two seperate reservations please let me know .

Thank you , Charstar

I booked with Small World Vacations, and my agent told me Disney is aware of this problem about not being able to book more than 8 days, you have to book it like 2 trips, they are trying to fix this problem I was told  will have to wait and see. So if you want a package deal it will coast more booking 2 sperate even with dinning options, I booked room only and bought myw tickets without dinning option, wasn't worth the extra $700 for DS 11 and myself. So you can from what she told me os to book for 10 days room only and then purchase a 10 myw ticket with dinning option, hope this helps and we will see if Disney changes this. I know people from over seas come for more than 8 days.

I'm confused.
How can you book a room only, buy your tickets and add the dining pkg? I thought the dining pkg is only on a PACKAGE (ie: room/tickets pkg- then add dining)?? I have yet to see, atleast online, any way to add dining to your room if you are not buying the room and tickets pkg.

We tried to get the 10 day w/ dining but were not able to do that talked to atleast 4 different CM's. I didn't use an agent just booked directly through disney, however, we are looking for those codes when they come availible and if they change the system we will change our res. for the 14 night/ 10 day pass with meals. I don't mind paying a little more for meals and not worring about tipping for 90% of my trip. My mom is going with us and 3 kids the less stress the better. I have a ds11,dd10 & dd 3 I am sure I can get the 10 & 3 to share meals as well if needed. right now I am going to divide up the extra meals to help with breakfast meals/ dinner meals for the days we are not in the parks. I hope the system gets fixed soon. I would love for it to be all on one package.
Thanks everyone, Charstar :grouphug:

My guess is if they have had a lot of comlaints and suggestions for the the 10 day + (U.S.) vacations they wil come out with something new. They are probably working on it now.

Get your room reservation separate. Get APs or PAPs instead of MYW tickets. If you are going for 14 days, the AP or PAP ticket should be more cost effective. Then get the Disney Dining Experience Card with your AP (for $50) and get a 20% discount on most meals. In the long run, you will probably save money. Plus eat where you want, when you want and how much you want.

I would do wht Deb and Bill said.

We are going for 9 days and wanted the MYW package with dining. We ended up getting a 7 day package and just a room only for the last night. We'll either skip the parks one day or buy park passes for the extra day we would need them.

Update, Just this morning the Disney computers have updated to add dining to a 10 day pass package. (but not longer than that - bummer we will be on property for 14 nights) But we will only use the 10 day dining option anyway. since we are also headed over to US for two of those days. One for sure we will be going to the beach park and disney quest downtown disney, ect.

At least they fixed that much, Yeah. ( i'm so glad my Dh called them today). We have even thought about upgrading to a moderate resort. Still not sure if we want to or not. I think I'll watch last years Vacation DVD again to help me with my desision.

So we will be changing our reservations again soon, Now we will be saving a lot of money on Room since most of our trip will now start in value season for at least 10 day for more of the trip and saving on MYW passes, I can maybe afford to get no experation on them as well. Will see. If so. I think I might come back for a few days at Christmas break.

We are going for 2 weeks as well - did room only, annual passes and dining experience. Seemed like the best deal - and will be even better if we get room only discounts! We wanted to be able to visit parks/park hop on any/all of our 14 days there....

I called and talked to a great CM that has been working for disney for 35 years now. He said to wait 2 more weeks and they would fix the system for a continuous vacation of any time with meals. :cheer2:

By the way that was the best CM and had great ideas and details of what was going on and how to do it. Great tips for how to plan your day.

I am glad to hear that they are allowing any number of days with the dining. I know when I called last week, I could get up to ten days. Booking two reservations is more expensive.
