MYW Dining plan counter desserts?

Seriously thinking about adding the dining plan to our room reservation and making it into a package but I was wondering: I know you qualify to get a dessert with your counter service meal and was wondering what is usually offered. I would prefer to be able to get a fruit cup or a yogurt so as to avoid too many sweets during the day. Is this an option? Please let me know what you have gotten and what qualifies as a dessert either in the park counter service stations or in any of the resorts. We are staying at the Poly and will probably do their counter service at least 2 or 3 times during the week so if anyone has any good suggestions for Capt Cooks I would also appreciate that. We have never stayed there so I really don't know what is offered. I checked the AllEars Menu listing but not much listed there. I am sure they must have additional selections.

Also can you buy quarts of milk either in the food courts or a gift shop at your resort. We will be doing breakfast in the room but will need to buy at least milk and would love to be able to get some fresh fruit as well. My daughter loves apples, grapes and bananas - are these at least offered in the food courts to buy and keep in the room refrigerator?

Thank you.

Some examples I remember are: frozen ice cream bars, cookies, pie, cake, rice crispy treats, and brownies. I would think you could substitute a fruit cup or yogurt on the dining plan. I haven't stayed at the Poly, but if I recall, when we stayed at POR, the cashier let me get fruit when we used the old meal vouchers. It might be a case of what the CM lets you have on a case by case basis.

As for the milk - if I recall I have seen people post that it's cheaper in the gift shop than the food court. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!) They usually have nice displays of fresh fruit to buy in the food courts.

Hopefully others can offer some additional input. :earsgirl:
