MYW Dining after package ends?

I am going to WDW in July. We are getting 8-day Premium park tickets and a 5 day MYW+ dining package. The first 5 nights we are on a package, the last two nights we are doing room only. (we are doing this because the 6th day we are spending at Universal and didn't want to pay for MYW Dining if we weren't going to be there). My question is: If we still have meals remaining, can we use them on our 7th day when we are back in WDW for the day? :confused3

No. You have to use all your credits by midnight of your check-out day.

Eventhough I am not physically changing rooms, am I going to be "checking out" and "checking in" again for the different room type?

yes you have to physically go and check back in--you will get new keys as well.

It's also possible that you will be changing rooms. When you check in the first time, let them know you have a follow-on reservation and would like to keep the same room if possible.

Changing rooms? UGH! Who wants to do that with a toddler, infant and connecting rooms???

Have a great trip!

When you purchased the 5n dining plan it includes TP tickets. Unless I'm reading your post wrong it sounds like a double purchase.

You could have the package for the entire stay & use the extra credits for a character breakfast or signature dining (2).

The AAA rep said that the tickets were separate. The reservations are "supposed" to be for 8 day tickets, 5 night MYW dining package and reservations and then 2 night hotel only. Overall it saved me $400 over Disney's rates.

Maybe someone else would know better what AAA can do. I've never booked directly with a AAA agent. I thought to get MYW dining you had to book a package. A package would include your tickets. :confused3. Its the seperate 8 day tickets thats puzzling.

Can anyone help out?

From what I understand, the tickets in the package can be for any number of days. The dining has to be for the number of nights, so you would be able to buy 8 days worth of tickets but only stay on a package for 5 nights.

Kelli,

Thanks for the response. I believe that is what the agent was trying to say. I was going to call WDW CM to see if they would verify but I couldn't get thru this afternoon.

The OP is correct...when you book a package the dining is tied to the room reservation...the number of dining days corresponds to the number of room nights. You must purchase MYW tickets to get the dining, but the tickets can be for any number of days...in this case they have room and dining for 5 nights and tickets for 8 days. and a seperate room only reservation for 2 nights

We booked a package with dining also for 5 nights and only bought 1 day park passes (we had left over days on assorted old park hoppers for the rest of the trip)...5 night room, 5 days dining, 1 day park passes.

You cannot carry over meal credits however to your last day...they will most definately expire on midnight of the day your package reservation ends...sad but true....you might want to move your Universal day to keep from wasting those credits!! They will however be happy for you to stay in the same rooms...IF you let them know when you check in that there are 2 reservations...and I would also suggest stopping by the front desk the day BEFORE your first reservation ends to remind them...you will most likely still have to come by the desk and get new keys, leave CC again etc...but if they have warning they won't make you move.

They will likely let you stay (they did for me last trip - a spontanious extra night), but no matter what you WILL have to trek down to at least get new room keys. They told me to stop by when I had a chance, but I forgot...and I got to the room at 2am and had to go all the way back to the front desk because my keycard expired. ;)

So plan on making a quick stop down there even if they do let you keep the same room.

N.E.D.
