MYW and Disneyland Park Hopper

I'm a newbie so sorry if this question has already been asked. I live near Disneyland but am making a trip to Disneyworld in a few weeks. I purchased a 5 day MYW ticket through Orbitz a couple of weeks ago (so mad since Ebates is now offering 20%!) and I've seen on other threads that you CAN NOT combine tickets to upgrade to a Premier. However, before I read those threads I thought to buy a Disneyland 5 day park hopper through them and combine them. Well, I chatted with a CM on the DW website and she said I COULD combine both the DL and DW partially used, not expired tickets to upgrade.

Did rules change since that thread was made? I read you can not combine tickets but this CM said yes. Any verification? I could potentially save $169 with the bridging if it works out. Any help is appreciated

Unless you get major pixie dust, you cannot combine the two tickets.

The people on the phone don't work in the parks, might not live and work in a state with a Disney park, might never have been there, an don't know what the operations are like at the parks. It's unfortunate web they act like they know.

I would contact Disneyland and seen of they can refund you for the DL ticket. You bought it because they said it would work, ad they should have record of that conversation. Sometimes thy will help out in such situations so I would try.

It was actually through a chat on the website and it linked me to someone specifically for Annual Passes. I asked her TWICE in two different ways and she said YES both times. I did a screen shot of the conversation and saved it. I wonder if this will help in my case?

Bumbershoot is correct that an upgrade is one ticket plus cash. Also, except for upgrading the DL AP to the Premier, DW does not accept DL tickets. (In the past you could use DW tickets in Anaheim, but even that is no longer allowed.)

Unfortunately phone CMs, chat CMs, and the Mother's Panel have been known to give incorrect information. What you read here on the boards will be accurate. If someone posts inaccurate info, there'll be several posters following with the correct info.

You can take a screen shot with you and maybe GR will allow you to use both the DW and DL tickets. You will need a lead/supervisor, time and patience and even then pixie dust might not happen.

Then there's definitely a record. I think that will help you more in getting a refund from Disneyland, though.


Can I ask how combining the two will help you (if they let you) in a way that just going from the MYW ticket would?

I was assuming they would bridge both tickets?

The worst that can happen is I just use the DL tickets to upgrade to an Annual pass to DL. I thought if I could save some money on the Premier and use it while at DW it'd save us money on dining and merchandise and we could park hop if we wanted to.

We currently hold DYW tickets with no expiration and previously were able to redeem at DL.

Can we NOT do that anymore? I cannot find any information on that.

The latest reports from multiple guests that have tried is
that they now, consciously and intentionally, do not allow use of WDW tickets at DL/DCA.

I don't know WHY, but that seems to be the current situation.
