MYW activation ?

I'm sure this has been covered, but I have read so much stuff on this that I'm losing brain cells.
When you purchase a MYW pkg. are you mailed the tickets or vouchers, and how do you activate them.
The reason I ask is; I have booked a MYW pkg with dining for Sept. We will arrive in the afternoon and would like to use a counter service option at our resort when we get there. We will not have gone into the parks yet. Can the resort activate my package, or is this something I have to do in the parks? Does this make any sense?

If you have a package, you will receive it at the front desk at check-in. Everything will be on your room key.
