Well two years ago the day we were at Islands Of Adventure Mytho's was booked for a private party, thus we were never able to experience it. Happily on our stay at Portifino Bay August 7-9 we were finally able to try it out! We were hesitent about it but when concierge told us how UNDERRATED the place was that it was definetly the best restraunt in Universal, we decided to go ahead!

WOOOOOOOOW! The minute you walk in that place it is amazing! The architecture is beyond awesome! The waiters are great, service is great, and atmosphere is perfect! Add to that the view of the lagoon and other lands and this makes Mytho's definetly the best theme park restraunt out there! But to say theme park restraunt is UNFAIR since it's better than most restraunts at most places around by where we live!

Both my parents meals were great and so was mine!

To start off the bread was delicious! We asked for a second serving because of this! I wasn't too hungry so I only ordered the Pizza, but boy was I was surpised! For about $2.00 cheaper than the big pizza at Poritifno Bay Hotel I was given a pretty huge pizza that tasted incredible!

So to anyone who has yet to experience this place, GO NOW GO NOW!

The prices are very modest for the quality!

Mike, I have to agree with you. A Universal trip is NOT a Universal trip without at least one trip to MYTHOs! It is awesome...

It's even better when you buy the CD
The Reality of a Dreamer by Mythos
listen to it a few times, then hear it in the restaurant.
That's what makes the place so special. The atmosphere and music, like being in a movie.

I love Mythos too. For the quality of the food you're getting, the price is pretty reasonable.

Did you happen to see a handsome bearded man hanging with a fine woman at the restaurant? :)

Now which bearded man and which fine woman are you thinking of?

There are two couples I know of that fit that description.;)

I totally agree MYTHOS is definitely my favorite restaurant ever. The food is AMAZING and the archtichture and interior is stunning.
The prices are great for the qaulity and size of the food you order.

10/10 all the way!

Mythos is definately incredible. My family makes sure to stop there every trip we take to IOA. Even if were separated we meet so we can eat there. I like how it seems that you are eating in a cavern and the sounds in the place help you relax after all the walking, and the food definately gets rid of your hunger.;)

I guess I am the party pooper here - I know everyone loves this place, so I tried it out this past weekend. I thought the bread was average at best - it was definitely warmed in the microwave too long, so it had gotten hard and crunchy - I ordered the shrimp gnocchi, and received only 4 medium sized shrimp that were grocery store quality, and a little overcooked. The gnocchi were very good however. I did have the lobster and corn chowder, and enjoyed that. My son had a steak which he liked. It is one of the better theme park restaurants but the meals we had in Disney were better.

jabrown-i'm sorry to be the party pooper to your post- we do not microwave our bread. The loaves are cut in half and held in a bread warmer until the servers need it and cut it for each table. Chef Jayson wanted to switch to a more crusty "rustic" bread afetr his trip to europe. Some people like it, some don't. I personally hope we go back to the original tuscan loaf at some point.

As far as the gnocchi dish, the shrimp come fresh from a local seafood purveyor. Maybe the shrimp you buy at the grocery store is of Mythos quality! ;)

I'm sorry the meal wasn't quite what you were expecting. I invite you to come back some point and see if we can't change your mind!

Yes and both the men wear Spiderman shirts on occasion.

The bread seems to change often. At times it is sooooo good and at other times it is hard as a rock but only by posting and making comments to guest services will this change. All comments good and bad make an impact on MYTHOS. They listen and respond. For a really major issue i have printed out a thread and dropped 4 copies off so the staff and the upper "crust" have a copy of comments made.

MsDis and i eat at Disney and MYTHOS and when you take the price and the quality we will take MYTHOS. This does not mean that Disney does not have good places to eat, they are just more expensive for the same type of meal. IMO :smooth:

I agree on the value you get here. We ate at Emeril's the night before we went to IOA. We loved Emeril's, no question. However, we were astounded at the quality of Mythos for the price. Even at a higher price, I would praise it. I had a sore throat the day we toured the park. I ordered a lobster-corn bisque, not quite knowing what to expect, but man, I needed soup. The soup came out in a huge shallow bowl and I figured, this will cool down fast.

Was I ever wrong. The soup was hot when it came out and one of the best I ever had. The lobster and corn bisques were separated. How they did that and kept it so hot, who knows. Maybe they are gods, like they say:)

The seating is super comfortable and the view can be enjoyed in pretty much any spot in the restaurant. Be aware that, even if you have a hotel key, which permits you "next available seating," it is better to have a reservation during busy times and during busy hours. This place is popular even in the off season.

I love crunchy bread! Can't stand soft mushy stuff. SecondCook I'll be there between Christmas and New Years, please don't let the bread go back to mush!!!!!!

Hi, need some advice please. Mythos and Emrils both look great. We're going to Orlando for the first time 21st Sept and staying at RPH for 2 weeks. Will we need to book these restaurants in advance? And do we get priority seating / booking through the hotel?

Thanks in advance.

Hear! Hear! I think what we're talking about here is the difference between real bread (like Mythos serves) and what passes for bread in most places. Too many Americans, their strong bodies built seven ways by Wonder Bread, can't tell the difference.

We split our recent trip between Universal and WDW. There was no meal I had in WDW that could come close to Mythos. The Flying Fish at WDW Boardwalk is very good, but my meal couldn't begin to match the yummy Corvina I had at Mythos and the Flying Fish cost quite a bit more.
I dine out often, and Mythos is one of the best restaurants I've had the pleasure to visit.

Robinrs' son Michael ate a lot of bread at Mythos. He also made a big mess! The bread is a little tough.

Maybe I just got them on a bad night. When I say crunchy bread, I'm talking about what happens when you put any bread or rolls in the microwave too long. I didn't mind the crunchy crust, but the bread was just plain hard. And I still think 4 medium shrimp is a bit stingy. I wish I would have had the great experience that everyone else seems to have. I enjoyed my meals at Artist Point, Narcoosee's, and Le Cellier much more. However, I do admit that I paid more for those meals.
