Hi-we'll be arriving at Universal (staying at RP), Aug 26th-we never ate at Mythos. We're staying a week at Universal this year (we usually do Disney more), but since we're there for a full week, I want to try different restaurants-Do you think it would be necessary to book reservations for Mythos for dinner for the end of August now? We usually travel to Orlando earlier in the summer, and then the crowds are huge- I'm thinking the crowds should be a little lighter at the end of August. It's hard to determine where I think we would want to eat our first night at Universal (you think I would be use to that with the Disney dining plan) But thought for our first night, this might be nice!
Thanks!

From what I understand, Mythos has sort of wierd hours and closes fairly early. Make sure you check on the restaurant hours (I've only had lunch there).
Since you know you want to eat there, if you know which day, go ahead and make a reservation. They don't make you put a CC on it like at Disney.

You can wait .Keep in mind Mythos often closes well before the park does( even in late August) .it is not unusal to see the last seatings for 4-430p and sometimes earlier than that. Both lunch and dinner menus are the same.Last time we were there in late August, the latest seating was 330p

That's good to know! Maybe we'll just wait then..we'll be there all week, maybe we could do lunch one day, then have a lighter dinner at the pool bar!

Definitely worth eating there.......food is always good, and it's such a lovely place for a cool down in the middle of the day.

I'd do a lunch reservation. You can always cancel. The place gets pretty busy. When we were there 2 weeks ago we had a reservation for 11:30 and there were a lot of people waiting who didn't have a reservation.

I want to bring a big thermos and just keep ordering the wild mushroom soup until its filled. I dream about that soup. Easily the best food at any theme park.

Wow that's great to know! We always walk right past in and don't give it a second thought-this trip we want to try some new places!

What's the best way to make reservations? Call the restaurant directly or do they have a general dining reservations number like Disney?

For sure make that reservation. But I don't think there is any rush. I made a lunch reservation one week in advance and every possible time was available. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, there was an hour wait.

When you have worked out your schedule, make the ressie.

I really liked the risotto, too.

We made our lunch ressie two days in advance and didn't have any issue. When we got there the place was packed with walk ins waiting for several hours. We were seated almost right away and the food was great! The restaurant is pretty cool inside and my picky kids loved it. It was even pretty easy to eat healthy.

been a few times and never been let down with the food and service, the beef madallions are superb, ressie is a must, enjoy

Since I live in Orlando, I don't eat at the parks much. We get there at rope dope and leave by noon and go somewhere else to eat.

But when I last ate at Mythos, I think it was one of the best hamburgers that I've ever had.

I totally agree with going to Mythos for lunch as a break from the park and to enjoy the AC!

We just returned and ate at Mythos one night this week at around 6pm. No reservation, just walked in and we were seated in less than 10 minutes

Have been here several times, but only for lunch. For me, it is hands down the best theme park restaurant we've visited, and it's not even close for second place. They have some sort of deep fried sushi roll appetizer that is phenomenal, and the risotto never fails. Great setting and views as well...
