Hello! I'm thinking we are going to try Mythos at IOA, not just because it's supposed to be the #1 theme park restaurant but also because the views are supposed to be incredible. I noticed on the US/IOA website that you can call and make reservations. Does anyone think these are a necessity?? I have no clue what time we will want to eat or what time we will stroll by the restaurant. Wondering how some the experts feel about this....

We went during spring break and walked up for a table at noon; I don't think you'll have many problems.

You can make ressies that morning if you want but you don't really need to make one unless it's a really busy season. Mythos usually opens at 11am so if you want to eat there w/o a reservations, be there when they open....you shouldn't have to wait in line.

We went in early December and had about a half hour wait for a walk up ressie right around 1 PM.

Very interesting interior restaurant - like you're in a giant cave. Definitely worth going, and be sure to walk around inside and look around. Food is pretty good too.

We've been there Christmas wee and walked up at noon time Christmas day and were seated relatively quickly. I would also say don't bother with the ressies.

Leave yourself some lattitude in your scheduling. It's more relaxing.:thumbsup2

Don't you think with the opening of WWOHP its going to bring very large hungry crowds and reservations might not be a bad thing??

I always think it doesn't hurt to have a reservation. With WWOHP even more so.

I'm still kind of annoyed that Mythos "parmesan fries" for which I paid extra were regular french fries with that powdered cheese you put on pizza sprinkled over them. (This was September 09). Can't get over that Mythos would do something like that.

I personally don't think the WWOHP will affect the need for reservations terribly much. Anyone who would go to IoA for HP, would probably want to take in the exclusive drinks, and food in the 3 Broomsticks. Not to say it won't effect it, I just think everyone will be eating there instead.

That being said, if you know what time you want to eat, you could make reservations. But you don't want to miss out on something because you have a time you must eat.

Thank you to everyone for your answers! We are going NEXT WEEK - - no need for reservations and no chance of seeing Harry Potter. :rotfl:
