Ok,
For you all restaurant experts out there. Which one would you pick if you can only do 1?
I saw that there is the magical orlando dining too for emeril or tchoup chop.
...sigh... decisions decisions... :)

Thanks so much!

Well, we don't know your tastes or the type of meal you're looking for. Mythos and Tchoup Chop are my two favorite restaurants there, but they are very different from one another. Tchoup Chop is much more upscale and expensive. I know...go to Mythos for lunch and Tchoup Chop for dinner!! :Pinkbounc

Wow, that is a tough one. I just ate at all three during my recent vacation and loved them all. I liked gschmerl's suggesetion about trying one for lunch and one for dinner. Emeril's and Tchoup Chop are more upscale and expensive, so if you're looking for a special, relaxing meal, I'd pick one of those. I think I liked Tchoup Chop the best out of all three places though. Have fun choosing!

We ate at all 3 in July. Based on our experience, Emeril's wins hands down. We love eating there, & go practically every trip. Next, I would suggest Mythos. IMHO, the menu is better suited to lunch. It's a bit too limited for a dinner menu. The mozarella & tomato flatbread is great! We had salmon, & it was good. We didn't think it was as good as it used to be though. As for Tchoup Chop, lets just say it's highly doubtful we'll ever eat there again. We had eaten there once before & didn't think the food was good enough to warrant the rave reviews. Most people seem to like it, so we thought we'd caught them on a bad night. We decided to give it another try. If we caught them on a bad night our 1st visit, they were having an ever worse night last visit. :sad2: Appetizers & soup were okay. Our DS ordered the Filet & loved it. My DH & I shared an entree & actually left most of it. It was awful! One of the sides was the worst thing I've ever eaten, no exaggeration. The other was pretty tasteless, which was an improvement. The desserts ranged from not good to horrible. I'm still puzzled about what all the people are eating at Emeril's & TC to make them think TC is better. We've never had a bad meal at Emeril's & haven't had a good one at TC.

MYTHOS hands down for me. But its mainly because of the atmosphere, I could move into this place it is probably the coolest restaurant I have ever been too and I have traveled all over the US, NY, Wash DC, lots of places.

I was a little taken back at the bad review of TC, I guess it is all in what you order, but I liked it when I ate there. Wasn't anything life changing like Mythos is, but it is good I thought. Never been to the main Emerils but have looked in and seen the atmosphere. I'm sure the food is great, but the atmosphere is nothing out of this world like Mythos. And the food at Mythos to me is very unique and different which I also like. The only complaint I would have for Mythos and it is no big deal to me is just the menu is a little short on choices. Mythos Mythos Mythos, and did I get my point across about Mythos?

I'm not sure when you will be dining and there is a good chance Mythos may not be open for dinner hours.

Of the three for dinner I would choose Tchoup Chop hands down! Great service, delicious meal, beautiful atmosphere. :)

We always hit Mythos for lunch when in IOA. Between Emeril's and Tchoup Chop, we will usually dine at one of them on each trip. I prefer Emeril's, but my wife likes Tchoup Chop better.

Fan2CSkr for my future reference do you know what the deal is on the hours for Mythos? Do they stay open until IOA closes or do they close earlier? Thanks

During peak season and late parks hours Mythos stays open but still closed before the park did by an hour (?). When the park closes at 6 I have found Mythos to close at 3. That said, its always best to call the week of your trip for their hours cause nothing is set in stone and times do change!

Tchoup Chop. and would look into the Orlando Meal pkg for sept.

Ouch!
You guys and gals aren't making my decisions easier... LOL!!!!

Well, it seems like whichever one I pick I should be happy with, so I guess I'll do eeny meeny... :)

Ooh ooh, one last question.
How is the risotto at Mythos?
That's the main reason I would want to go there.

Thanks so much!

Never had a bad meal there always, great, never had that, but I'm sure its great, they have a chef etc., its a real restaurant on top of the atmosphere, don't let the fact that it is in a theme park fool you. U is not like anywhere else for its food, best food at any theme park anywhere, including disney which has a few at Epcot that may be in the running, but still no Mythos. Mythos Mythos Mythos Mythos MythosMythosMythosMythos Mythos Mythos Mythos MythosMythosMythosMythos Mythos Mythos Mythos MythosMythosMythos (Did this work any to influence you?) He he he he he

LOL!!!
aztecgoods... Could you tell me how you really feel about Mythos? ;)
Just kiddin...

Thank you so much for the input. I am leaning towards mythos also.
Hopefully if we could eat really really late lunch at mythos then DBF wouldn't mind hitting Emeril or Tchoup chop later at night.

He already wants to eat at Wimpy's for lunch(don't ask me why... he's enamored with the concept of Wimpy...). Or I can beg him to skip wimpy's? LOL!!!

Well like Fan2skr said, you should check on times, Mythos may not be open for like a 7 or 8 dinner, so just check on that, if they're open do dinner there, if not, go to one of the others and do Mythos for lunch.

Not to highjack the thread, but I got an email about this. It's a great deal!!! I wish we were going to be there in Sept. I'm pretty sure the email I received said this would become an annual event. If that's the case, we'll have to start going in Sept. just to eat, eat, eat. :teeth: They've done this in Miami for a while. I'm glad Orlando has followed. Hopefully, Tampa will be next. ;)
