Mystic Fountain......

Okay, gotta tell ya. I thought this would be so dumb until I experienced it myself. We had so much fun and so did our son. So here is my question, how does it work? My wife swears that there is someone in there, but I think it's powered from somewhere near by. Does anyone have the scoop?

I know....I'm amused easily....

Spidey, this is one of my most favorite attractions! I have spent some major time playing and watching. My kids love it! During our first trip I was so determined to find out where this person was stationed. I looked everywhere! We left that trip never knowing the answer. Each trip back, I was on a mission to find out! LOL I do know it isnt in the actual fountain and have been told there are a few cameras and microphones on the fountain and there sits a man/woman in a building somewhere watching all that goes on and getting to interact with so many people and just have fun. What a blast to have that job, literally.

My kids love the fountain but last week the fountain was not talking. Sprayed my son a few times but said nothing. We waited quite awhile but still nothing.

What a shame!

We saw something happen last trip that I never witnessed before. There was a kid that got a bit out of control while the fountain was doing his thing and the fountain asked him repeatedly to get off the top step. The kid refused to listen and finally the fountain said...see ya! He shut down and started snoring.

Actually, NONE of any of that is true.

The control room for the Mystic Fountain is located in a small room attached to the Sindbad green room behind an inconspicuous door with the sign "DO NOT OPEN: LIVE SHOW IN PROGRESS"

It is nowhere near any guest areas, so you'll never see it unless you work there. Point in fact, it's closer to Poseidon's Fury than the fountain itself.

It is right by the entrance to the Sinbad show in the lost continent. It is a great attraction.

We LOVE that fountain. I hate when we get there and he's not speaking.... I saw him "marry" a couple once, it was soooo funny!!

Hope he's chatty in January when we go!!

They have something similar in the Universal park in Spain but it shoots water out with particular accuracy the fountain in IOA is more fun because it speaks as well and it pretty entertaining when waiting for Sinbad to open

Just wanted to mention that the Mystic Fountain is really up on his/her current events. My five year old daughter was talking to the fountain for quite some time. He was calling her "blondie" and she was really having a blast. Well, when he asked her where she was from, she said "New Hampshire". The fountain replyed that he had a cousin in New Hampshire - he was the "Old man of the Mountain". At that time in New Hampshire, our "Old Man of the Mountain" had just fallen apart. It was a natural mountain cliff in the White Mountains that looked just like an old man's face - There was a big controversy in NH as whether it should be left alone or be reconstructed.

Well, DH and I got a big laugh out of this one, but no one else around knew what the heck the fountain was talking about. So I think a lot of research goes into this job!!
